Backwards and Upside-down

Well this is awkward

We sat down on a table just outside the ice cream shop. Alex was scowling at Ethan, Ethan was happily enjoying his ice cream. "So guys," I asked "do y'all have anything planned for this summer?"
Ethan shrugged ,
"Not much. I'm probably just going to stay home." I nodded,
"Fun." well this is awkward.
"I'm headed to Britain in a few weeks to stay with my grandparents..." Alex interrupted,
"I'm going to miss you so much Rose! Can't you stay just a little longer?" I smiled at him, he'd so cute when he's sad!
"You know I can't do that Alex, I already have the plane ticket and that's when my grandparents are expecting me to come! Don't worry, I'll always come back." Ethan was looking between us awkwardly,
"Maybe," he started, "I should go? do you two need some time... or?" Alex was about to say something when I interrupted,
"No! Ethan stay here as long as you want!" I smiled, Alex glared at me.
"All right, you sure?" Ethan asked
"Of course! Why wouldn't I be?" I smiled at him.
"Well," he said, glancing at Alex, "Just 'cuz." Alex rolled his eyes.
"You're so chessy Rose!" He poked my nose. I swatted it away and playfully glared at him.
"Loser," I laughed. He smiled at me, but his smile disappeared quickly, when he remembered Ethan was here. "So, guys, you wanna head out of here? It's a little crowded for my taste."
"Sure!" Ethan and Alex said at the same time. A tried to hold in a laugh. Alex was glaring at him and Ethan was laughing. This is going to be an awesome month!
