"I preach darkness. I don't inspire
hope—only shadows. It's up to you
to find the light in my words."

MEXICO CITY, MEXICO

Daisy's hands trembled. They shook like loose leaves in frigid, and stormy weather not from the cold but from the strong emotions she felt, the single teardrop that she tried to keep in fell, it fell onto the rich soil she kneeled in, the two small bouquets of daisies she had carried in her hand had long since fallen with the teardrop.

Air blew past her lips as she exhaled, then she inhaled.

After the single teardrop, her whole demeanour changed, as if a switch was flipped, the usual smile on her face returned but softer and dimmer, then she started talking to the two beautifully decorated graves that sat in the clearing behind their manor.

"Hi mama, hi bubba, its been awhile. I didn't think I was strong enough to come back and face you guys, but I'm sorry" The young girl spoke trying to cover her sob with a laugh.

Daisy then went on in detail to describe every event that had happened in the last 3 weeks starting from the proposal to the current time to the two angels six feet under in front of her.

Only when she had finished her rant and breathed out did she allow the waterfall of tears to fall down her soft, tan cheeks, her quiet sobs breaking the melancholy state of the clearing.

Minutes later, when she had felt that she was drained of tears, she slowly stood up, eyes locking onto the graves one last time, before whispering something that would have made her father cry, one last tear leaking down her face.

"It should have been me."

A simple sentence, a thought that had echoed in her mind since the incident, a terrible sentence but true nonetheless. She often had nightmares where the whole scenario changed and it was her that got killed and sometimes on some terrible nights it would show her dad, or her other brothers, or Petro, or Maria.

The nightmares were something only her father knew about and sometimes when her father wasn't around to calm her, she slept in his room, engulfed with the scent of one of her favourite persons.

But she hadn't had nightmares for several months and she prayed they wouldn't come back.

Humming softly, she walked back to her manor, through the front door and into her room, realising that her friends were coming today.

Daisy had woken up at 3 in the morning and went to the clearing where she stayed till the sunrise, then heading back at the time she normally woke up.

Angela and Rin were meant to come any time from 9 - 11, it was Friday meaning they had a movie night at Daisy's house and sometimes her brothers would join, but they were all abroad either studying or working.

She sat in her room and took some pictures, uploading it to her private Instagram before laying in bed and taking a nap.

The sleeping beauty was shaken awake by Rin while Angela climbed onto her bed with the grace of an elephant and proceeded to jump on it, with Daisy still in it.

Used to her friends' antics, she just smiled at them, yawning out a "Hi" still half asleep, meanwhile, Angela, who always had a different motive, jumped off the bed landing with a thud sound on the plush white carpet before dragging her best friends arm, so she was dangling halfway off the Kings sized bed and threatening her with

"I'll pour a bucket of cold water on you, zee!" and that effectively helped daisy snap out of whatever sleepy trance she was in, and sighing in relief the trio trudged to the movie room where there was already snacks.

"When did you guys get here?" Daisy asked still slightly disoriented.

"I just came, but Ellie was here for a few minutes and that's when she got the snacks and brought them here" Rin answered fumbling for her glasses while trying to sit on the couch-like chair.

Pretty soon they settled into their usual routine grabbing their favorite snacks, plopping onto the comfy chairs and watching a movie.

Well into Spider-man: Far From Home, a movie they had all watched before but enjoyed nonetheless, Rin spoke, "I can't believe that by this time next week, you won't be here again."

"Same, but the both of us will be flying in for your wedding, you lucky bitch! I can't wait!" Ella basically yelled, the trio were sad they wouldn't be complete anymore but they were excited for their best friend.

The girls chatted into the night, stuffing their faces in unhealthy food talking about the wedding, how they'd visit and their futures, they planned to have their children marry each other and they talked about their dreams, wishes and hopes.

It was one of those nights that Daisy fell asleep with a real smile, happy that she still had people that she loved. One of those nights that she thanked God for blessing her with all the love and support that she had.

She fell asleep knowing the two other girls would do anything for her and vice versa. Her soulmates were her sisters, her best friends and heck even her soul was content and at peace
