at lunch, ainsley stepped out of the pizza line and walked over to the table eli showed her. she saw the back of his and exhaled. he wasn’t messing with her. she walked over to him and tapped his shoulder. “uhm… eli?” eli spun around in his chair and his face lit up. “ainsley! guys, this is the girl i was talking about. here, i saved the spot next to me.” ainsley sat in the only seat left at the table. there was only one other girl, and five other guys besides eli.
“ainsley, let me introduce you to everyone.” eli went around the table, telling her everyone’s names and a fun fact. the other girl was anne, and she had the last flip phone ever. a bulky guy named ron had played football since he was nine. isaac liked to act like he was a spoiled white girl. sam liked to skateboard. dreyson had an addiction to teen girl shows. andy hadn’t eaten meat for three years.
ainsley was told to tell a fun fact about herself. “uhm…” eli shoved her shoulder. “come on. there’s gotta be something.” ainsley racked her brain for something interesting. “i used to live in florida?” eli gasped, saying “oh yeah! you told me that this morning.” anne piped up. “i went to disneyworld for my birthday. have you ever been?” ainsley shook her head. “i uh, i never went to any of the attractions. my parents never took me." anne frowned. “that sucks.” dreyson tipped his milk carton towards her. “don’t you think that eli looks like ezra?” he asked ainsley.
“who’s that?” he looked at her, shocked. “from pretty little liars. don’t tell me you’ve never seen pll!” he said, saying each letter individually.” ainsley smiled, shaking her head. “i’ve never heard of it.” dreyson clapped his hands, standing up and walking over to her. he pulled her out of her seat and put both hands on her shoulders. “to be my friend, you must watch the whole of pretty little liars. are you free this weekend?” ainsley couldn’t believe it. “i’m free every weekend.” dreyson’s face lit up. “that’s amazing. kind of depressing, but amazing. give me your number.
so she did. she ended up getting everyone’s number that day. ainsley couldn’t believe that somebody wanted to be friends with her. lunch ended before ainsley could get a cigarette, but for once she didn’t mind.
