I don't want to do it, but I know what will happen if I don't.
I have to grab what I can at every open opportunity I can get. But right now, I don't want to think about what I have to, I just want to soak up the sunset.
I stop. I'm a little befuddled because I feel as if I've just walked into something but when I look up, no one is there.
Until I realise that a petite girl has her face buried into my chest. I knew, even before she looked at me that this girl was just sunshine and rainbows, I could practically feel the happiness radiating from her.
My eyes skim over her and catch a glimpse of her bag hung loosely from her arm, wide open. I force myself to stop thinking about her and take this golden opportunity.
But my hands are stuck by my sides. Get a hold of yourself! I think and find the courage to put my hand in her bag. My fingers fumble and brush against a leathery type of material.
The girl lifts her head and her aquamarine eyes meet mine. My hand freezes as I hold her gaze, I can't do it.
How can I steal from such an innocent looking girl?
My thoughts then trail to my mother lying in her hospital bed. Completely senseless. Yet she's alive, and the only thing I have. I'm doing this for her.
I know it's stupid but I have to apologize mentally whenever I steal anything.
"Sorry." It isn't me that says it. It's the girl, who turns around to walk away from me. The action causes her bag to whack the purse out of my hand, falling to the ground with a thud.
The girl looks, at the purse then at me, and I see something flicker in those aquamarine eyes.
"Sh*t!"
