"This gives you the opportunity to make a decision, a sacrifice for your family-"
"I've been making sacrifices! Why-"
"What sacrifices?! All I need you to do is do what you've already done-"
"You mean let him do what he's already done to me," I said cutting her off.
"Of course... typical Naya playing victim... just find it in you to give a damn about somebody else other than yourself," she said before walking out of the room.
"Seems like I'm not thinking about myself enough," I said lowly to myself.

𝙲𝚑𝚒𝚌𝚊𝚐𝚘, 𝙸𝚕𝚕𝚒𝚗𝚘𝚒𝚜I woke up to the sound of bags and foot steps before noticing Otis was no longer by me. I sat up to see Otis setting gift bags on the bed.
"That's the last of everything that was in the car," he said before crawling back in bed with me.
"All of these are for me?" I asked before he nodded. "From who?"
"Me... Briana..." he replied.
"So only you guys and all of this?" I asked before he nodded.
I shook my head before grabbing the first bag I saw.
"Which one is this from?" I asked.
"Me," he replied before I started pulling the paper out of the bag.
I pulled out the box before seeing it said Louis Vuitton on it.
"No the fuck you did not!" I exclaimed.
"Open it," he smiled.
I opened the box before seeing it was the tote bag I wanted.
"Oh my God," I said before kissing him. "Thank you."
"Everything in a bag like this is the same brand in case you want to open them in a coordinated fashion," he informed me before I saw all the bags.
He had gotten me another purse but it was smaller and crossbody. He also got a wallet, a pair of the all white time out sneaker, and a pair of slippers, all from Louis Vuitton. He got me some other clothes and things from big brands. I tried them on and did a whole fashion show for him. I giggled as I got back in bed with him and kissed him passionately.
"Thank you for the best birthday ever," I said.
"There will be better ones to come... I mean as long as you fuckin' wit' me," he said before I rolled my eyes as he laughed.
"It's so pretty," I said admiring the tennis bracelet he got me.
I looked at him to see he was looking at me weirdly. I furrowed my eyebrows before asking, "what?"
"I don't want to kill the mood or no shit-"
"Tell me," I said.
"If you don't mind me askin'... you said you wanted to get away from yo' family in ATL, but you never said why," he said as I looked at him.
"I didn't have the best childhood... my dad was a... mean person. He didn't treat me or my mom, or anyone for that matter with respect. I love my mom but I just don't have respect for her based off of her mindset, y'know? I just thought that I owed it to myself to live a better life than the one I was living," I said.
"Treat people with respect how?" He asked.
"If the wind blew wrong he would take it out on anyone within close proximity. I mean he did illegal things too, so you'd think that with being out all day hurting other people, that you wouldn't even have the energy to come home and beat your wife and kids too," I replied.
"When did you move out?" He asked.
"I moved out when I started college," I replied.
"Well what made you decide to come up here half way through school?" He asked.
"I realized that even though I was no longer in his house, I was still known as his daughter in that area. I didn't want to represent or reap anything that he's sewn when he wasn't even a father to me. He wasn't even a man. And then I didn't want to be anywhere near him, not even in the same city like... my mom would like show up on campus trying to get me to move back home. And it wasn't because she missed me it was because now that I'm gone she is the only punching bag he has at home right now. It's not like I haven't tried to get her out, because I have. But you'd rather have everyone share the ass whoopin' with you instead of leaving. I can't fuck wit' that shit," I replied as he nodded following along.
"Have you talked her or anybody since you left?" He asked before I shook my head.
"You never really told me why you left either," I said.
"Well you know I told you how my pops passed away," he said before I nodded. "I was born in Chicago. My parents never dated or any of that, I was mistake-"
"Don't say that," I said trying not to laugh.
"No I'm for real. My pops was travelin' up here and had a one night wit' my mama. I was a fuckin' mistake, you can't get around that shit. But that's besides the point. My pops would try and travel back up here to see me but it's only so often you can do that. So around five or six my ma sent me to live wit' my pops 'cause she believed that I needed my pops more than her growin' up as a little boy. So I lived wit' him up until he died and I was seventeen-"
"How'd he die?" I asked.
"He was... severely beaten and shot," he replied. "After he died I felt like a lot of people kind of depended on me for the answers and a shoulder to cry on and I just couldn't be that person. I was just as confused and lost as everybody else was but I think that confusion turned into anger. But that anger I had became drive and uh... if I'm bein' honest I've been on edge ever since he died but when I get around you... thats when I start to feel at ease. Even though you crazy as hell," he said causing me to giggle. "You keep me steady."
"Not to be a simp or anything but, I've never felt this safe or comfortable or secure... it's like you're my safe house," I said as he looked into my eyes. "I know when I'm around you I'm protected."
"I always got you, and that'll never change," he said.
