Quick AN!
I changed the gift the old witch gave Princess Anai. It is a small golden ball (instead of an anklet!)

——

Now when Princess Anai turned 4, she had the most inquisitive mind. Her mother always encouraged her to question everything and anything and so that is what she did. The little princess stayed up every night asking her mother every question she could remember like why the sky and waters were blue but the grass green.

"Have you your pouch?" Queen Agatha asked her daughter while she played with the strings on her bonnet.

"Yes mother" the little girl nodded, holding up the soft satin pouch to convince her mother. The queen bent to face her daughter and pulled it around her tiny waist once more, making sure it was secured.

"Did you check to see if the little golden ball was in it?" the Queen asked again.
The little princess nodded, impatentiently leaning over the balcony to observe her two sisters as they played in the meadows.

"Mother, may I go now?" the little princess pouted, crossing both her arms over her chest.

"Okay now tie it back. And make sure—-"

"It is by my side at all times!" Anai pouted, finishing her mother's words as she closed its opening. Although Queen Agatha encouraged her daughter to ask her anything, she would never tell her the purpose the ball served so, by design, Anai grew quite annoyed by the  little golden ball. It had become more of an annoyance than a charm.

The queen chuckled at her little beauty as she wiggled impatiently and ruffled her wild mane. "Stay close to your sisters and do not wander off. Understand?"

"Yes mother!!! I won't" the little girl smiled eagerly, finally free from her mother's overbearing sights. She gathered her dress and ran to the fields to join her sisters who were frolicking in the pastures and playing with the flowers.
