Chapter Seven ~ Now

Remember: "Your mind can play tricks on you in the dark."

The man stood there starring deep into my eyes, I was terrified. He slowly raised his right hand as though he wanted to offer something to me, but there was nothing. I looked down at his hand then back at his face.

"Sir, I don't mean to intrude your home or disrespect you but..."

Just as I was finishing my sentence, I heard Hannah starting to cry behind me.

"Get out, get out, get out!" She yelled as I turned around to face her.

I was so fed up with what was happening, I just wanted out. I started devising a plan. My plan was to walk closer to Hannah then quickly turn around and bolt out past the man and get out.

I started walking towards Hannah then when I was about a meter away from her she vanished right in front of my eyes. I was speechless. Was my mind playing tricks on me or was this really happening? I don't know.

I clued into what was happening around me and continued on with me plan. I ignored the fact that Hannah was gone. I turned around and the man was still there. I started running towards the doorway that he was blocking. I was going to try go under his legs. Just as I was about to bend down and go through his legs he vanished...

After I got out of the room I ran back down the long hallway and started searching for the exit. I ran down a huge what it appeared to be a dinning room, there was even a huge apple pie on the table, my favourite! I ignored my rumbling belly and ran through room after room after room until I finally saw the front door. Freedom!

I walked closer to the front door, grabbed the handle then glanced behind my shoulder. It felt like i've failed the poor ghost children. I let out a sigh then opened the door.

I looked outside expecting to see freedom, but I didn't. I saw a tiny white light...

I thought to myself for a while, maybe I was dead? Maybe that's why all of these unexplained things have been happening? I don't know. I started walking towards the light and my life started flashing before my eyes.

I then reached the light, I walked into it...
