Everything happened so fast for Clara. The battle, the destruction, the world she knew had been destroyed, at first anyway. As she stood, looking around her at the darkness, small multicolored lights appeared around her as the world was rebuilt.
Once the change was complete, Clara realized something, this was her home. She recognized everything around her and knew that changes were made. Clara walked around the house and saw the date, 2035. As she thought about how she returned to her period, a door opened behind her.
"Hey, sis." She heard a voice say. Clara paused for a second in disbelief and turned around. She had her twin brother, Mark, and didn't know whether she wanted to cry or anything. "Mark?" She asked. Mark gave her a weird expression. "Yeah, are you okay?" He asked. Clara didn't answer and instead rushed over, hugging her brother with tears in her eyes.
Mark hugged her back. "You remember everything, don't you?" He asked. Clara stopped the hug for a second and looked at him. "The other world?" Mark asked again. Clara nodded but felt confused. "You know about the crisis?" She asked. "How is that possible?"
Mark shook his head and explained that he had nightmares about his death while they were growing up. "I went to mom about it and she told me everything." He explained. "For her, she remembered everything when she was still pregnant with us." He added. Clara looked at her brother. "Mom, is she still alive?" She asked. Mark shook his head. "She died a few years back." He replied. "Not sure what dad was like before," He said. "But he's still trying to track us down." He explained.
"So dad's still a power-obsessed jerk," Clara said, rolling her eyes. "Good to know." She added. Mark nodded. "Last we saw him, he had me and mom brainwashed back on Celezella." He explained. "Dad's homeworld?" Clara asked. Mark nodded. "You saved us back there." He added. "Just wish you could remember the stuff that happened in this timeline." He said. Clara nodded, a lot had changed after the crisis.
A loud explosion was heard from outside. Clara and Mark rushed to a nearby window. Some distance away was a laboratory building up in flames. "We'll have to talk about this later," Mark said as he started walking off. "Time to suit up, Lunar Witch." He said to Clara. Clara nodded and then realized what he called her. "Wait what?" She asked.
A few moments before the explosion, the laboratory was having a group of guests. Among this group were two individuals, 13-year-old Martina Jackson, and 18-year-old Ronnie Stein. The two of them had known each other as family for as long as they could remember. Martina was the daughter of Jefferson Jackson, a former football player who had become close with Ronnie's grandfather Martin Stein, who she was pretty much named after. Ronnie was named after one of his grandfather's former partners. Nothing was ever discussed about it since his death but it was important to the family anyway.
"Ugh, why are we even here?" Martina asked. "You hate crowded spaces." She said to Ronnie. She wasn't wrong. Ronnie had a social anxiety disorder and wasn't comfortable at most places, especially with crowds. "Yeah well, I heard grandpa's old research was here and wanted to check it out." He explained. "Yeah, and of course you just happen to pick this on a day you're supposed to be watching me," Martina said in an annoyed tone. "Well, you tend to get yourself into predicaments on occasion," Ronnie said with a shrug.
They walked around the lab for a while and found Ronnie's grandfather's research area. "It is here." He said walking over to it. "Look at this stuff." He said to Martina. Martina wasn't that into tech stuff but knew it was important to Ronnie. "Wish we could've met him." She said as they looked at the tech. Ronnie looked at her and nodded. "Me too," He replied. "But from what both our parents told us he was one of the best." He said. Ronnie turned back to the area for a few minutes and got ready to leave. "So, where do you want to go?" He asked, no answer. "Martina?" He asked as he turned around, Martina had vanished.
