Have you ever heard of the saying "Japanese people are the kindest"?
It turns out that that is not always the case, specially if you're a foreigner.
Yes, there are plenty of kind-hearted people here but definitely not all of them.
Japan has a lot of harsh racism, extreme bullying and power harassmemt.
Have you ever wondered why Japan seems very peaceful but the suicide rate is extremely high?
School bullying and power harrassment plays a big role in it.
School bullying isn't the same as you're thinking. It doesn't usually get physical, it's more like a verbal/special treatment abuse. Many people are so full of themselves that if 1 popular kid hates you, EVERYONE will hate you. Even your best of friends. Everyone will avoid you and talk shit behind you. It's a fight for survival. In school, Social status is everything, at least in my elementary and middle school it was.
Japan isn't what you think it is.
