Into The New World

Day 4 - [Part Two]

As Haoxuan and Pei Xin moved towards the zombie's direction, it suddenly turned its head towards them as if it sensed them moving towards its direction. Then it suddenly charged at them with its mouth widely opened, saliva mixed with blood dripping from its mouth, its teeth was dyed yellow, face black as if burned by something and its cheeks was missing seemingly bitten off by other zombies before it turned into one itself, with its arms twisted in a strange way as if any second it wall fall off, and legs with an awkward form, the right leg was normal but the other was twisted in the other direction facing the other way. It was obvious that before it got turned into a zombie, it was tortured before being thrown into the horde of zombies to be a bait.

Qi Pei Xin was taken aback when it turned their way and as his adrenaline kicked in, he pulled the trigger of his gun without warning and shot the zombie on its stomach. Wang Haoxuan was also taken aback but was astonished as he saw Qi Pei Xin shot the zombie on its stomach. The gunshot reverberated through the area then silence ensued.

The three along with the zombie stopped in their tracks. Pei Xin glanced at Wang Haoxuan with panic stricken face along with his trembling hands holding onto the gun. Wang Haoxuan saw the panic in Pei Xin's face and as he thought of other zombies hearing the gun shot, he quickly moved towards the zombie to kill it. Because any time now, there would certainly be a horde of zombies coming this way. So to hide themselves he need to quickly deal with the one in front of them.

The zombie however, didn't take long for it to snap out of its daze. As if it didn't feel anything obviously because its now a walking corpse without any feelings or emotions anymore, zombies are now numb to everything except if you hit it on the head. It then proceeded to lunge at Wang Haoxuan and Qi Pei Xin but compared to before, it's now more crazed and faster as if its lifeline was depended on the two of them if it didn't eat them up.

Pei Xin was still in a daze and he didn't even notice that the gun he was holding fell from his hands because of how his hands trembles from extreme shock, fear, and anxiety. Haoxuan however, didn't looked back and didn't notice this and proceeded to run towards the zombie. When the zombie was within Haoxuan's reach, he lunged his knife directly at its head. The zombie with its uncoordinated movements, got strucked by the knife. It stopped in front of Haoxuan with its head plunged with a knife, arms still outstretched and mouth widely opened as saliva drips out of it. While Wang Haoxuan was still holding the hilt of the knife with his arms stretched, the saliva trickled down onto his shirt. Along with it, was blood and chunks of flesh that got stuck from the zombie's teeth.

In this close proximity, Wang Haoxuan smelled how pungent the zombies mouth was. It was as if the zombie in front of him didn't take a bath for years, well of course it's because they're zombies now. They didn't have any consciousness or the ability to think anymore. But as he noticed that the saliva still drips down from the zombies mouth onto his shirt he can't help but be nauseated and any second now he can throw up, for it was just too disgusting and smelled awful. He thought that once they got out of here, he will wash himself several times to remove the smell. Because he didn't like to smell bad and he was always conscious of how he smell.

After a few seconds, the zombie collapsed and Haoxuan let go of the knife to let the body of the zombie collapsed to the floor. He moved to the side, crouched down then removed the knife from the zombie's head. He wiped the knife using the shirt the zombie was wearing and returned it to the holster on his hips. He stood up and as he saw the saliva from his shirt, he scrunched up his nose. He didn't bring any spare clothes so he was forced to put up with it for the time being until they got in the mall and search some clothes and changed into it.
