The shape of the small creature I became immediately fell through the hole my humanoid figure was too large for. I landed quickly and scuttled to the nearest corner instinctually. I had no second to spare. By the route from the floor above us, Samantha would reach the escape pods in approximately 7 minutes. I just had to beat her there in case she released them all at once and left me trapped on this ship.

It didn't take long for the guards to burst through the cabin door and find the hole in the ceiling. They reported back to their commander and the search began. I quickly dashed into the hallway. The alarm blaring in my newly hyperaware ears. It wasn't long before I made it to the stairway and the second floor. I watched Samantha fumble outside a pod for a full minute before figuring out the control and slipped inside it. Once she had blasted off, I shifted slowly back to my humanoid form and into a pod of my own.

"Guess she will have to be taken by force" I mumbled angrily to myself. For once I was glad Sarym was right.
