The trial of Xiwangmu.
Cal wasn't too excited,but he didn't really wanna let the pantheon down,or embarrass himself since y'know,he was the newbie. Anyway,the trial started and everyone started climbing.
Or at least trying to.
Cal fell a couple of times (like many people),and was trying to focus but couldn't help but to hear someone...crying? After he fell another time he looked over and saw Solis,sitting on a bench on the platform in front of the tree,curled up into a little ball and quietly crying. Cal immediately went over to him and sat next to him.
"Solis,what's wrong?"
Solis shook his head,as if to say no,but did come out of his little ball and stared at his lap,with tears rolling down his face. Cal put a hand on Solis' shoulder. "Solis..." Solis went quiet. "It's okay if you don't wanna tell me now," Solis was still quiet. "Hey,how about to get your mind off of whatever it is we try climbing this tree,eh?" Solis sniffled and wiped his nose with his hand before finally looking up and nodding. Cal jumped up and put a hand out. "Alright,let's go then,shall we?"
