(Sorry this is a bit of a filler idk what to write)3rd pov
It's been one month since Maria had arrived, she fit right in alongside with everyone. She always made sure to greet everyone in the morning and made sure everyone was eating well, sleeping, and overall doing ok. Whether it be physically or mentally.
Throughout the month her desk mates noticed that she would be adding new things to her desk and inside it as well. Although they knew that a part of her job was making sure everyone was ok and helping them when they needed, they couldn't help but be curious of the items within her drawers. It seemed as if whenever someone needed something she had it in one of those mystery drawers. It seemed as if there was no end to what could be in there. With this thought in most of the teams mind, they figured that Spencer should be the one to ask about it, seeing as he was always asking their newest member questions to try and get to know her better.
Today was one of their quieter days, they were filling out files for their most recent case when Spencer asked the question that was gnawing at his mind all morning. Also the fact that Morgan wouldn't stop pestering him to do so and it was annoying him to no end.
"Hey Maria?" Spencer looked up at the golden eyed brunette with a slight anxious tone.
Maria immediately stopped writing the file she was filling out and looked up at the young genius, "What's up sweetheart, something wrong?" Her brows were slightly furrowed in question, lips just barely pouting which the three other members around her found adorable.
Spencer's ears flushed at the nickname just a bit, she was one for affection and nicknames. Although she warned them, he still was having a bit of difficulty of getting used to it. Shaking his head slightly he stammered, "Yes, uh I mean no. I just had a question?" She nodded for him to continue. "Well I was just wondering, what's in your drawers? It seems like you have something for everything and I was just curious because it's not like the drawers are endless, that's simply not possible-"
Emily cut him off with a slight wave, "What Reid means is that we were just wondering why you have so many things in your drawers for everyone and not more personal items? I- we know that you're taking care of us but we just thought it might help us get to know you better."
Maria let out an airy chuckle at the silly question. "Sure dove, it's nothing too interesting so don't get your hopes up, ok?"
The three nodded their heads, hopes already up as they collected around her desk.
Maria giggled at the three profilers who acted like curious little children. She opened the first drawer on her right, everything very organized and in place. "Well this drawer is just office supplies really, things I'd need to grab in a hurry, pencils, pens, post it's, erasers, journals, all that fun stuff-" she closed it and opened the one below it, "-this drawer is more for health, it is locked by the way, it's larger that the other one so there's some basic pain relievers, some sanitary things for any ladies who needs, a first aid kit, a blanket, some candy, allergy medicine for people in the office with certain allergies god forbid they need them ever, change of clothes, gum, candy and snacks, nothing extreme-" she closes it and pats the small one on her left with a lock, "-and this one is my personal drawer with my notebook if I'm not using it and a couple other things. Is that all?"
Morgan was the first to speak, "Wow princess, you really are prepared for almost everything." He had his arms crossed as he leaned on his desk that was next to hers in slight amusement.
She nods slightly, "It is my job after all, and if there's anything I need to know that you guys need, comfort things after a hard mission or any health problems that deeper drawer on the left is also locked, only I have the key. That drawer will contain whatever you need and whenever you need it I will hold it for you because I'm here to help you guys. Can't have my favorite profilers not at their best can I?"
She gives them a big smile and the three give her a small thank you before returning to their desks. All with the thought of how happy they are with their newest member, and a small smile gracing their faces.
. . . . . . . .
A couple hours later Hotch had left the office saying that he had to pick Jack up from school and would come back to the office with him for a short while. Everyone was happy at the thought of seeing the young boy, but Maria left in confusion about this person she'd never seen before. However she just kept to herself, figuring that she'd find out in just a short while.
And find out she did. When she saw that this 'Jack' was indeed Hotch's son she let out a small squeal of happiness that caught the eye of Morgan.
"Excited Princess?" He chuckled, he hadn't seen her so excited about meeting someone before, much less a child.
She nodded enthusiastically, her wavy hair bouncing in her ponytail. "I love little kids so much, I haven't seen my little nieces and nephews in ages so I'm so excited! Do you think he's going to like me? Oh my gosh here he comes, he's so cute!" While Maria was rambling about the boy Morgan laughed at how cute she was when she was excited, especially when her hand gestures became more frequent and expressive with her excitement.
Hotch had a small smile as he brought Jack over to the cluster of desks. "Jack this is Maria Vitale, she's the newest member I told you about."
Maria turned in her chair to face the smiling boy with a quirked brow, "Well I hope you've heard only good things."
Hotch nodded with a small smile, "Of course all good things."
Jack spoke up, "You're really pretty like Dad said you were, do you have candy? You look like you'd have candy. Dad can I do my homework with her? I like her, she smells nice." Both adults in question were surprised, Hotch a bit embarrassed and Maria bursting into a small laugh with a gentle smile that made her eyes crinkle just a bit.
Maria gave Hotch a smirk, a playful glint in her eyes, "Oh? Dad thinks I'm pretty?"
Jack nodded furiously, "Yup, he says you're suuuuuuuuuper pretty."
Hotch stammered a bit, at a loss for words.
Maria simply laughed a bit, "well I'm very flattered thank you." They stared at each other in a moment of silence before Jack broke it by tugging on the sleeve of his dad's shirt.
"Can I dad?"
Maria nodded enthusiastically at Jack, "I'd love to have you here bud, if that's ok with your dad?" With the small nod of approval Maria let out a small whoop of happiness that made Jack giggle at as he happily pulled up a chair next to her.
The other three agents staring in slight shock at the exchange, wishing they were at the receiving end of her flirtatious teasing.
Hotch watched this happen with a soft gaze, turning to head to his office. Once settled in his seat he found himself glancing at his son with the bubbly woman every so often. She helped him with his homework, made him laugh, and gave him a little tour of her drawers saying that he was the only one other than her that could take snacks whenever he wanted.
Maria was just so happy to be able to interact with this little bundle of joy that she didn't notice the warm gazes of the whole team that found their way to her throughout the rest of the day.
So what did they find out from her desk that they didn't already know? She had candy and coloring books for children, she loved them dearly and that fact made them feel closer to her and a few of them began to think that maybe they should tell her some things....
....maybe she really could be trusted?
