Part 5 Shadow

Your P.O.V

I woke up to the sound of birds chirping and something pulling my duvet off me. I pull the duvet back on me, covering my head with it. "Mmm... Shadow... Five more minutes." My pleas are met with stronger pulls. With the final pull, he pulled me out of my bed on to the floor. I slightly moved the duvet away from my face and Shadow took the opportunity to shove his muzzle under the covers. He started licking, nuzzling, and rubbing his head against mine. "Ack, what the fluff! Alright I get it. I'll get up".

As I got up, Shadow went outside first. I started cleaning the house while Shadow woke other creatures up. Shadow is friendly towards animals that live in my property but he needs to feel the thrill of a hunt. So, today he'll go on a hunting trip. I go outside to see him off. It's like an old tradition of ours. It's odd, I'm aware but I don't care. I give him a couple of pats before I nod as a mark that he can go. He'll return either in the evening or after a couple of days. After Shadow disappears into the forest, I walk back inside to get everyone's breakfast ready.

No one's P.O.V

Shadow walked along paths looking for something to eat. Sometimes when he was walking to his usual hunting ground, he would find something on the way to catch instead. Of course, he wasn't that lucky every day.

While walking he noticed tents. It was odd since he could swear those weren't there yesterday. He crept over to check them out. The smaller one of the tents clearly had food in it while the bigger one smells like people. 

Suddenly loud bang fills the air. "Get the hell out of here you beast"! A large person starts running towards Shadow. Shadow quickly starts running away. There is another bang and Shadow almost falls to the ground from the pain on his back but he keeps on running until he knows he is somewhere safe. Then he falls to the ground, he has lost some blood. He feels cold and alone... Then someone finds him.

Time skip

Aurelius P.O.V

I'm speed walking down the hall because while I was eating my breakfast one of the guards came in with a letter from Erlan. In the letter, he said it was urgent. I have almost made few servants fall to the ground with breakables. I have said so many sorries that I wish that someone is dying.

When I arrive in his room, he signs me to be quiet and follow him behind a screen that hides his bed. When I follow, I see a huge black wolf lying on his bed. Isn't that the wolf that lives in Y/n's place? "Is this your crush's pet"? I look questingly at him. Is he a mind reader on top of everything, did I tell him about that wolf or did he see a vision? "He was shot by people that are staying in the forest. Before you ask, I saw them shoot him and you know we can't yet risk being seen", he says with assertiveness. I look at him then I look at the wolf. "We should heal him and take him back to Y/n", I say trying to make it sound like a command.

"Can I come along? I wanna meet your special someone", Erlan says with hope in his eyes. I want him to meet Y/n. "What about the guards? Won't they question it?" I ask him. Since he is the only seer in our village, he hasn't ever been able to go too far from home for too long. I sneak him out to hunt with me from time to time... but we would also have to carry a huge wolf with us this time. Even then...

"You can come along, I'll take care of the guards and we'll sneak out tonight after you have made sure the cut won't bleed", I say with a smile.
