(Your PoV)I sat down with my four year old son in the play room, watching him as he builds non-sense with blocks. He tried to make a tower, taller than himself, but he didnt have enough blocks to do so. His unruly brown hair was stuck out everywhere, and his beautiful heterochromial eyes made him stand out. His left eye was a bright ocean blue, and his right eye is a leafy green. Just like his father, Ohm. I miss him so much.
Ohm was sent out to the military three years ago. He was sentenced to station in Iraq for 2 years, then to return home. But he didn't.
We sent letters whenever we could to each other. Sometimes even my son, who was 2 at the time, would try to sign his name in sloppy scribbles and signs. After a year and a half of sending letters... We stopped receiving replies.
After months and months of not receiving a reply letter, I got a phone call. A phone call from the Captain in Ohm's squad; Ohm was pronounced missing and possibly dead.
I was in a depression for a long time. The man I love, could be out there or even dead, and I had no control of it. He was thousands of miles away, and I couldn't do anything.
I picked up my son Ryan, who just finished knocking down his structure, and brought him to the couch. While he watched TV, I got ready to go to the store to buy some groceries. Once I finished getting ready, I grabbed Ryan and the car keys and headed off to the store.
While I was getting groceries, I got a text form Minx. She was a good friend of Ohm's, and over time we practically became best friends. She helped me a lot after I went into depression, and I owe my life to her.
The text message said '(Y/N), hurry and finish up what you're doing and come home. I want to talk to you.'
I was confused. Usually Minx isn't in that much of a rush. If she was, she'd usually call me. How strange.
I finished up my shopping, getting the necessities and some clothes for Ryan because some of his shorts were getting too small. I paid at the cash register and loaded my trunk with my items before driving the fifteen minute path to my house.
Once I got to my house, I unbuckled Ryan and helped him out of his booster seat. I saw that Minx's car was already in my driveway, so I guessed that she already let herself into my house. I honestly don't mind, I trust her with everything.
I unlocked my front door and kicked it open with my foot, because I had my phone and purse in one hand, Ryan in the other.
What I saw shocked me. There he stood. The love of my life, smiling. This must be a dream. This must be an illusion.
Beside him stood Minx, smiling like a maniac. I pinched myself, and I felt pain.
I softly set down Ryan and dropped my groceries on the floor, not caring that the cereal and milk opened and spilled all over the floor.
I bolted to his arms. Once I reached him, I jumped into him and wrapped my legs around his waist as he supported me. I started sobbing and shaking in his arms. I hugged him like if I let go, he would disappear. I looked up at him, tears streaming down my face. Soon we attacked each other with kisses, clinging onto each other.
Minx grabbed Ryan's little hand and slowly guided him towards his father. Then it hit me, he only saw his father when he was a baby. I looked away from my husband and looked at Ryan. "Ryan, honey, this is daddy." Ryan looked at the man curiously before smiling and giggling. He let go of Minx's hand and ran up to him, hugging him at the leg because he was too short.
My husband lifted up Ryan and brought him up to where we were. We all hugged each other for a while before I turned around and mouthed a 'thank you' to Minx. She smiled and came up to hug us all. We all stood there for a few minutes, just savoring the moment.
Ohm was now.... Home.
