My name is Nezuko Kamado, and I'm not special. Not in a bad way of course. I am in my own way. Just not in a way I wish I was. When I was young, my brother Tanjirou, was kidnapped. I don't know why, but that day my dad tried to commit seppuku. My mother refused greatly and made sure he died when it was time. I was told by my mother that my eldest brother Tanjirou had great smelling abilities. I thought maybe I'll have something as special as him, but I was just a normal girl.
"Nezuko, are you really going? The weather is getting bad, can't you just go first thing in the morning tomorrow?" my kind mother asked me, wiping the dust from my face. "Nezuko, I understand you want to help the family, but you're a girl. It's dangerous for you to go out and come back who knows when.
"Mother, I'll be fine. I promise. Please let me go, I want to fill them up for New Years." I pleaded with my mother. After Father died, it was hard on all of us. I wish I had an elder figure to lean on, but I was the eldest right now. I had to support the family.
"Fine," she looked at me with sad, happy eyes. "I'll see you for dinner okay?"
"Yup!" with those words I quickly left the mountains. Everyone would start complaining, wanting to go with me, and that would be troubling.
