Life at the Burrow with Harry and Victoria was insane. With them added to the house, we ate outside for most meals, played a lot more quidditch, and had a few more chores. I couldn't be happier. Even though it was awkward that our children were here, throughout the beginning of the summer we had been getting close with one another.
Zagan was definitely a good mix between Hazel and I. I was glad to see him happy now that Victoria was around. The two were best friends, that much was obvious.
One morning, all our owls flew in with letters. It was quite a scary sight seeing seven owls fly up to the window all at once. Hazel and I didn't have our own owl, but we usually shared Will and Nico's owl, Adonis.
It was our Hogwarts letters. Only one of the books we needed was not written by a wizard named Gildeory Lockhart. "You've been told to get all Lockhart's books, too!" Fred said. "The new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher must be a fan - bet it's a witch."
"That lot won't come cheap," George said, with a quick look at his parents. "Lockhart's books are really expensive ......
"Well, we'll manage," Mrs. Weasley said, but she looked worried. "I expect we'll be able to pick up a lot of Ginny's things secondhand."
The second Mrs. Weasley mentioned anything secondhand for Ginny every demigod's face shot up. Most of us knew what that was like. I for one didn't, but that didn't make me like the idea of it. Ginny deserved better than that. I knew that was the best Mrs. Weasley could do, but I wished we could help out.
"Can we help Mrs. Weasley? Our parents aren't exactly poor," Percy offered. We all nodded.
"No, no dears, you should keep that money."
"It's the least we could do. You could get all the boys new robes, Ginny knew books and a wand. It wouldn't be hard for us at all," I said, praying Mrs. Weasley would accept the help.
"Thanks," she said, looking down at the table and switching the subject. We were going to Diagon Alley in a few days to meet up with Hermione which would be interesting. Annabeth, Jason, Zagan, Owen, Tristan, Piper, Will, and I all left with Fred, George, Ron, and Harry to play quidditch while the rest stayed behind and did homework/helped Mrs. Weasley.
Early Wednesday morning we were awoken by a shriek from Mrs. Weasley. We all jumped out of bed, ready to fight something when there was no need. "I didn't realize how, uh, comfortable you were with each other. Please, uh, get dressed, dears, and meet us for breakfast before we leave." Mrs. Weasley left looking like a tomato.
I looked over at a blushing Percy and Annabeth. Jason and Piper were also in the same bed because Piper had had a nightmare the night before. I looked over at the legacies side of the room and nearly laughed. Bianca and Derrick were sitting wide eyed on Derrick's bed. "I'm going to assume your dating," Leo said, looking over at Derrick.
"Yeah, yeah we are," Derrick responded. Nico and Will smiled at them both while Bianca stood up grumbling as Victoria laughed at her.
We all changed into jeans and varius shirts before leaving the shed and joining the Weasley's for a quick breakfast. We all then threw on coats and headed to do the floo powder leaving thing.
I still hated this. No matter if that stick I had was in a fire proof pouch or not, I didn't like the idea of walking into a fire. The only person who didn't truly have a problem with this was Leo who volunteered to go first.
The line slowly lessened and finally it was just Hazel, Mrs. Weasley, Ginny, Harry, and I waiting to use the powder. Harry went next, and I decided I couldn't mess up as much as him and stepped into the fire shouting, "Di-Diagon Allay."
