The day after the party, I didn't get to see Ryan but all I did that day is stare out of the balcony into the ocean while listening to the ocean waves. I never felt hungry or anything, I just felt relaxed! The days went by, weeks, months, went by with me doing the same thing everyday. A schedule of eating, staring out of the balcony, doing all the things I need to do, then watch the sun sets, and finally sleep. The same cycle for a whole year and a half. I still talked to Ryan but he got so busy with his schedule that he couldn't travel so much anymore. By then I was already 16! Mr. and Mrs. Augustice really wanted to adopt me because I don't know why, after 6 months they really took adopting me into consideration but I told them "Not yet." As they ask every month until I turned 16. Now they decided to leave me alone, but only ask me once in a while. I also attended the same school as the rest of the kids but like usual Connor would always tried to boss me around as if he ever will get to boss me around. Then one day I decided to want to learn how to drive.
"No way, you wanna drive?" said Connor. "Huh, yeah. You drive, I want to drive! I'm 16 now and you're like what? 18. What'd you still doing here? Oh right, you haven't graduated high school yet! Haha." I replied with an attitude. "Yeah, right. You're going to be worser then me at driving! Watch. I bet you 50 bucks. Dad will be the judge, but he's not gonna know about this bet because he's going to be too nice and therefore I will win the 50 bucks so no telling my dad." Connor replied. 2 weeks later after I learned everyday. Here goes the bet winner! "Dad, so who drives worser? Juliet or me?" Connor asked. "To be honest, Juliet. Though you were a quick learner, you drive rougher." Mr. Augustice replied to Connor. "Where's my 50 bucks at?" I asked Connor. Connor handed me 50 bucks and I gave him a smirk and walked away.
My phone ranged and it was Ryan! "Hey Juliet!" Said Ryan. "Hello! You've reached Juliet's voicemail. Sorry that I'm not here to speak to you but leave me a message and I'll surely call you back! BEEEEEEP." I said. "Really? Really Juliet? Haha." Ryan replied. "Hmm, hey. Ha. Really. For real. Really." I said. "It's already May. Ready for summer? Your junior year is almost over." Said Ryan. "I know. This whole thing is confusing." I replied. "What do you mean?" Ryan asked. "So you know how I was 15 when every corrupted - happened? My birthday is in August. Everything happened in June, that summer. I turned 16 that year which was when I was with of course the family now. People are confused with that." I replied. "Oh, yeah. Haha. You'll be 17 in August but I'll be 19 next month. Then you'll start your senior year and graduate as a 17 year old! Hopefully this whole conversation makes sense. Haha." Said Ryan. "Hopefully. Ha." I said. "Well hey, I've gotta go. I wished we could talk longer but summer is almost here and we'll hangout more right?" Said Ryan. "Right. Okay, later." I said and clicked.
"Yeah! My birthday is next week. That means house party! Wait, no. No house party. I'm going to go to L.A.!!" Shouted Connor. Mr. Augustice knocks on my door. "Hey can I come in and talk to you?" Asked Mr. Augustice. "Yeah, come in." I replied. "So Mrs. Augustice and I have been planning this for a while. Since you've moved in, we've never done anything for you..I know you turned 16 and most 16 years olds had a sweet 16 but you didn't. This year we won't celebrate because we know you're still getting use to everything even if it's been a year. We've waited for this day to come because this is our gift to you. So let's go outside." Said Mr. Augustice. "Um, yeah. Sure. I'll be right out." I replied. It was weird, why is he being so generous? I know it's what he does, he helps the poor (volunteers and help homeless animals) but still. Anyways, I walked out and saw a brand new car. "It's the newest Mini Cooper convertible!" said Mrs. Augustice. I can't really explain how I feel but it feels great and I'm glad it's not yellow. Not that I don't mind but I'm just glad it's black because if you know me I'm not a fan of bright, neon colors. "Ah, thank you Mr. and Mrs. Augustice! You guys didn't have to buy me a car but thank you. I really appreciate it!" I replied with a cheesy smile. So now, I can go to L.A. not with Conner but with Ryan.
3 weeks later it was the middle of June and Ryan's birthday. We traveled down to L.A. and after we stopped at Ryan's new place we went to Venice Beach. It was beautiful! But I've never gotten sick of staring out at the ocean or hear the ocean waves, it just calmed heart and took me to outer space. As Ryan and I lasted on top of the blanket on the sand, we just gradually stared into each other's eyes and Ryan said "I'm so lucky to have a travel buddy. You're an amazing, wonderful human being Juliet! Thanks for being my rock and best friend when I had no one to lean to. You're the best at listening." I'm flustered. I can't really process what Ryan just said to me. It's just too sweet and cheesy, and heart warming. It's been a long time since I've heard that from someone who I'm close to. We've been friends for 3 years now.
We were laying near the ocean, about 10-15 feet away and someone tripped over my feet. "Oh my gosh, are you okay ma'am?" I asked surprisedly. She burst out laughing. Ryan's face turned red, and I started freaking out because no one has the same laugh as the incredible Demi Lovato. Lovatic for life! "Oh hey, Demi!" I said. Demi turned and looked at me while Maddie was still laughing. There was only Demi and Maddie. "You are...Juliet right? And Ryan?" Demi asked. "Yes. Haha." I replied while Ryan calmed himself down because he's one of the biggest Lovatic I know besides myself and he loves Maddie because he thinks she's adorable and she is! "What are you guys doing here?" Demi asked. "We're just chilling. What about you guys?" I asked Demi. "We're just walking, you know. Walking on the beach! Haha." Demi replied. "Oh, ha. The classic." I said. "So have you guys eaten dinner?" Demi asked. Wait, is she about to ask Ryan and I to eat dinner with her? What? I'm freaking out even more. "Uh, nope. We just got to town not too long ago." I replied. "Well Maddie and I haven't eaten either so would you guys like to join Maddie and I?" Demi asked Ryan and I. "Y-y-yeah, yes." Ryan replied to Demi. "Great. It's time for dinner so let's go?" Said Demi. "This is going to be awesome." Said Maddie. "Amazing." I said to Maddie. "Great." Ryan said to Maddie. "And cool." Said Demi. We all laughed because we continued what Maddie said which is kind of weird for me. Never happens! Well once in a while.
After dinner, we said our goodbyes and we left to Ryan's place. "That was amazing!" I said to Ryan. "The best dinner probably?" Said Ryan. "Best dinner." I said.
