Arrogant Claim

Oh my, I wasn't expecting to wake up at this time of the day, 9 am. In case you are wondering yeah I'm a morning person. The latest I could wake up is 6am, by 4am I'm awake only God knows why though. It still amazes me that I can wake up at such early hours. Even if I try to wake up late then it's 4:30am. Every time my eyes open and I check the time it's always the same. 

If I really want to sleep through out the morning that means I have to stay up all night just so I will wake up late. 

You could just imagine the surprise on my face, when the clock read 9 o'clock. All the same I'm glad because I won't be bored for long. 

After taking care of my hygiene, I went downstairs to meet my love (food). I prepared omelet, toasted some bread and poured myself some orange juice. 

After eating I called my parents to check up on them since I have already missed them. I tried persuading them to come come earlier than they had planned. They said, as long as they are enjoying their break without drama, they will continue with their trip in peace. 

Even when I said I wasn't feeling well they asked me to go to the hospital, but I said I'm too weak to go. They said, "call the doctor to come and check up on you in the house or call 911 if it's an emergency." 

Oh my it's like they don't care anymore, just because of small trouble I will cause them. I know that they still love me. I'm sure my mum knows I'm lying and she will do anything for my dad to not fall for it. 

My mom said, "I know you don't get sick and even if you do it only last for that day and the next you are back to being annoying. Though we are not there we know you will be fine dear. Allow us to enjoy the break. We will have our own outing when we get back. Okay. I love you." 

Every excuse I gave they didn't buy it. Can you blame I mean I miss disturbing them. I even went ahead to ask if they've missed me since I've not heard them say it. They said, "no". 

My dad said, "if I say that word, you will emotionally blackmail me and I will have to cancel the trip, so my dear, my answer is no. Don't miss us too much. We will be back sooner than you'll realize. I love you so much."

They said, "enjoy your time alone, explore and discover new areas of my life and perfect the ones you want to take on."

"I still haven't selected my programs,"I reminded them. 

"if there is one thing in this world we know you love that will be food, you love children also and to care for others why don't you check the programs base on these so you can find a program you will do at the university."

"I thought skills and talents are important for selecting a program of study, " I said.

"Yeah it's important but you are the focus right now and if we start with that then you won't get any program at the university to offer. Just focus on what we said earlier and you won't regret it," said my mom.

"You can still work on your skills and talent along side the program you choose and add them to perfection "my dad also added.

" Don't forget we won't make any more decisions for you, but we will always be around to guide you. Don't forget to ask for guidance when necessary, "they said. 

I can't believe I had been lost all this while when my parents have excellent ideas for me, I should have asked earlier instead of wearing out my brain.

Oh God, I'm grateful for such wonderful parents you've given me. Thank you very much.

" I love you two beyond reason, I can't wa-..." they didn't allow me to finish, they cut me off. 

"We love you also, very much, you've taken more than enough of our trip time, now leave the line before you trap us with your words. Bye dear." with that said the ended the call they didn't even wait for my response.

I laughed at their words leaving a smile on my face. The kind of parents I have I still love them them all the same.
