Chapter Twenty-Two: Star City

Star City, 5/25/2018, 4:00 PM

Tim snuck down along the walls as he moved towards the catwalks above the pit of water spanning the whole chamber. He looked around as League members patrolled and moved from console to console. Tim spotted one that was unmanned so he quickly moved towards it. He swung behind it placing a small device on the back of the machine allowing him access. He quickly began searching for the purpose of the device when suddenly he heard something fly through the air. A small knife hit the cable keeping him attached to the catwalk cutting it in half and sending Tim falling downwards towards the catwalk beneath. He hit the walkway with a thud and looked up as assassins rushed towards him. He quickly raised his staff extending it and began parrying blows as the assassins reached him. He grabbed one by the arm as he stabbed forward with a sword and quickly threw him off the catwalk and into the water below. 

The rest of the assassins moved towards him, but they were blown off the walkway by a gust of wind, Tim looked up as Supergirl flew down and looked ahead as more assassins rushed his way only to be knocked away by Kid Flash. 

"I could get used to this!" Tim smiled as he ran forward towards the stairs moving up towards the center of the chamber.

"We're a team Tim! That means you need to communicate with us!" Supergirl yelled as she floated up to the center platform, "You can't just rush off like that you might get yourself killed!" 

"Right, right I'm sorry." Tim shook his head as he approached the center console, Kid Flash ran up next to him as they looked at the screen.

"What do you think?" He asked looking around at the controls, "Some sort of doomsday weapon or a battery?"

"Not sure." Tim gazed down at the controls moving through the system looking for clues.

PROJECT SILENCE, it read on the screen, ACTIVATION 55%. 

"That can't be good." Tim shook his head looking at the number.

"Tim look out!" Supergirl yelled as Tim turned around to see more assassins rushing in. 

"Ah, hello children." A voice spoke from above as an individual stepped forward taking off her hood, Tim recognized her, it was Talia Al Ghul, the daughter of the demon.

"I see you have stumbled upon my operation!" She smiled raising her hands, "Well sadly for you, this is an area that is off-limits to under-age adults." She grinned leaping down to the platform they stood on, to the right another emerged from the crowd, it was another woman, sleek and slender but holding a sharp-looking katana. 

"Lady Shiva." Talia addressed the woman, "Take them, Ruck and Spike, assist with the Kryptonian." 

Suddenly, a massive four-armed man landed in front of the trio and he reached out grabbing Kid Flash by the arm and swinging him to the side. Another woman leaped from the upper catwalk extending her arm creating an energy sword in her hand, Tim remembered these two metahuman assassins, it seemed Talia kept her troops together after all. Tim raised his staff blocking the attack and threw Spike to the side while Supergirl launched into Ruck knocking him into the wall of the chamber. Lady Shiva rushed forward kicking Kid Flash in the face knocking him out while turning towards Tim raising her hand and launching out throwing stars towards him. He quickly rolled to the side as they hit the console behind him. 

"NO!" Talia yelled in anger, "Take them alive!"

Lady Shiva rushed towards Tim as Spike attacked Supergirl. She caught him by the shoulder throwing him upwards and quickly launched her leg forward knocking him down to the floor before punching him in the cheek next. Tim slowly looked up as Spike slashed Supergirl in the side before Kara punched her across the chamber, but a glowing green arrow flew through the air piercing her shoulder and knocking her to the ground. A Kryptonite arrow. Tim looked up as Merlyn emerged from the lines of assassins as well with his bow in hand.
