Chaos.... That's the only definition that I can give for the scene unfolding in front of me..
All I begged for was a peaceful and quiet morning to finish sleeping and I couldn't get even that?.
Wait, I thought this house was supposed to be deserted, abandoned, haunted or whatever, then why isn't there serenity even if it's with spooks and dead spirits.
"Now you tell me who you are right now or am calling the cops" the woman standing at the back of the door screamed out again...

It all started with Kate tiptoeing into my room in the middle of the night asking me if I heard the voices and the sounds of feet downstairs. I told her since she opened the door and woke me up herself she shouldn't have expected me to hear anything out of ordinary. She didn't relent, so here we are checking out what the noise is all about and finding a middle age woman moving around the kitchen. Kate stared on in horror as the woman started opening and closing the cabinets.
"Scream" Kate had told me.
I was surprised, why would I start screaming in a house in the middle of nowhere? And obviously since am the only mature one between us, she started screaming like a banshee with her pink hair flying all over the place.. And the chaos began with the woman dropping everything she was holding as a result of being startled, and everything started clattering with each other while Kate continued to scream like a mad woman. I'll say I was even too shocked to move a muscle.

Finally, she stopped screaming enough to glare at the woman
"You almost scared me to death" the woman accused.
"She almost scared me to death" Kate said in my face. And then she started screaming right back.
"Knock it off Kate" I snapped at her starting to become annoyed.
"Really?" She said with a scoff, "there's an intruder in the house and you are angry at me". She asked with disbelief.
"Can we just solve this and go back to bed cos I really can't function without my sleep".
"Whatever" she murmurs out.
"Have you guys forgotten that you haven't told me who you are, or do I need to go through with dialing the cops?".
"Alright alright. My name is Pete and this is Kate" I said pointing to Kate who is full out fuming by now.
"We just started living here on Friday" I look to Kate to continue the introduction since I was just told to come and live here for college not even knowing the owner of the house. And the moment I asked Mom, she shuts me right up.

"The house is for my father, he's dead and I don't wanna live in our house anymore because of the memories, so I decided to come live here till after college". My jaw is dropping before Kate could finish talking. I didn't know her father is rich, dead or anywhere, I didn't even know him at all. Not even his name, I guess that's why Kate acts like a stuck up bitch at times.
"And am supposed to believe that?" The woman who I've even forgotten about asked.
"It's your choice, take it or leave it" she said with a shrug.
"Now we've come to the question of who you are, isn't it?"
"Well, I'm the housekeeper here, I come twice in a week to make sure the house is clean and discourage homeless people who would have broken it when there's no sign of living here" she replied.
"Oh.... Okay then" Kate agreed.
"Why is your boyfriend living here also?" The woman asked, confused.
"He certainly isn't my boyfriend, I just met him too" she said with a scoff.
"Rude much" I replied annoyed.
"We're only housemates" I said to the confused woman.
"Now I'll like to get back to bed while you guys make acquaintance" I said on my way upstairs already.

I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep anymore anyways, so I can as well study my schedule and the topics for my Monday classes in college.... I didn't plan to start thinking about how or why I got to start living here, all I could do was think because I didn't want to call mom about it again since all she tells me is that the house is for a friend who no longer needs it whenever I ask..... I wonder if her dead dad was what she was talking about when she said she was thinking about home the other day. The poor girl, I shouldn't have treated her like that.....

And my guilt flew right out of the window when I noticed my granular bar missing on my table. Since it's only two of us living here and I clearly remember putting in on my desk yesterday morning then it's no one else but her. And knowing her, she would have eaten the chocolate, her sweet tooth is compared to none. She can keep it, even though I'm sure its gone already.

I looked back down at my book and signed. I really needed to get to a library to get ahead of class on Monday... I'll check on Kate on my way to ask if she wants to go to the library or should I?...
I don't know how to deal with her mood swings, have might be angry right now and I really can't take someone snapping at me for no reason. I might as well go on my own. After all, no one has ever gone to the library with me.....

"Have you eaten"was the first thing I heard after closing the door to the house. I looked up to check the time since I never have a watch on me and my phone is in my room, shoot it's seven already. And I said I wouldn't stay late at the library but I tend to lose track of time whenever am reading which some people count as a bad habit.

"Cat got your tongue" she said again impatiently.
"Sorry, no I haven't eaten" I quickly answer her so as not to trigger her terrific temper.
Am I starting to get afraid of her? I wondered to myself. No, I continued with my inner dialogue, I can't be afraid of her, I don't just want a fight, I reassured myself.

"So what do you want to eat or you want to continue talking to yourself?
Was I talking out loud?
"Hello?, A penny for your thoughts" she said. It's obvious in her voice that she's becoming frustrated with me not replying her an it isn't really on purpose, I just zone out like that once in a a while.

"Did you cook?" I answered
"Cook" she repeated with her mouth hanging open.
"Why would you think I will cook for you?, And I can't even cook for shit" she replied.
"You really can't cook anything?" I asked honestly appalled. Even I can cook something, and that's saying a lot but you can't judge a book by it's cover, she might be good at something else cause I can't imagine doing every chores in the house alone since we told the housekeeper not to come anymore as there's no one to pay her and I can't survive on pizza alone, even though pizza will have to do for now.

"So is that a problem?" She shot out obviously upset and ready for a verbal fight.
