Kunal's Heart broke at kuhu's behaviour and immaturity. He hated how she treated Mishti. Kunal would always feel guilty about not accepting Mishti before. He hated how he had let his immaturity and ego get the best of him. And now his wife was doing just that. He went to the guest room and took a seat. He was excited to come back home after three months but for the first time he was understanding why his bhai preferred to stay out in the wildernesses rather than being in this hell hole of a home.
The door suddenly opened. He looked up and was surprised to find Parul there. He smiled at the sight of her. He would call her everyday and take updates but after realising that she was his mother, his affection had definitely increased towards her. It had been a long journey but he was finally accepting her. Parul smiled at the sight of Kunal. She immediately shut the doors of the room and walked to kunal and said, "kunal...Tum...kaise?" She asked. Kunal stayed quiet as Parul continued, "pata hain ben ba kitni khush hogi? Accha kiya ki tum unke janmadin par waapis aa gaye." Parul grinned. Kunal smiled and nodded and asked, "Kya aap khush hain...Ma?" He asked. Parul smiled at that. She would never get used to kunal addressing her as ma. She put a hand on his cheek and said, "bohot khush hoon." Kunal smiled and hugged her. Parul's happiness knew no bounds as she hugged her son back. She pulled away and got a look at him. Something was amiss. Kunal wasn't happy. She sat down on the bed and gestured at kunal to have a seat as well and asked, "Kya hua kunal? Koi problem hain?" She asked. Kunal sighed and shook his head. She continued, "Kuhu se jhagda hua hain?" She asked. Kunal nodded with a grim face and said, "Woh kyun nahi samajhti ki bhai se important meri life mein koi nahi hain? And bhai ki life mein Mishti bhabhi se important koi nahi hai. Mein thak gaya hoon kuhu ke bachpane se." He admitted. Parul sighed and said, "tumhe mahashivratri waali baat pata chal gayi?" She asked. He nodded and said, "I'm sorry. Galti Kuhu ki thi and meine aapko daant diya tha." Kunal admitted. Parul shook her head and said, "koi baat nahi kunal. Tumhe Abir ki chinta thi isliye. Lekin tumhe kuhu ko samjhana hoga ki woh jab jab Mishti ko chhot pahuchanti hain, tab tab abir ko bhi dard hota hain." She explained. Kunal nodded his head but sighed and said, "Kya aap please mere kapde room se layengi? Mujhe abhi kuhu se baat nahi karni aur Varun aur uski family bas aa hi rahe honge." Kunal requested. Parul nodded and left the room.In Abir and Mishti's room, Abir found Mishti adding another origami bird to the wall hanging she had previously made. It was a soft pink coloured bird. Mishti had a soft smile on her face while doing so. Abir smiled at that. He really wanted a daughter. A daughter as strong and beautiful as his wife and from the looks of it, so did Mishti. He stood by the door frame, watching Mishti in her element after what felt like ages. Mishti had changed into a baby pink lehenga and her hair was neatly pinned to one side and she had worn a pair of long earrings. She looked beautiful. Mishti then walked to the dresser and looked at the reflection. She put a hand on her stomach and just smiled. Abir's heart was bursting with joy. His eyes watered at the sight of his happy wife and he did the nazar utaro thingy praying to his Partner to keep his wife this happy always. Mishti then found him standing by the door with his arms crossed across his chest and a smile on his face.
"Abir! Tum wahan kya kar rahe ho? Jaldi se ready ho jaao! Varun ki family aa hi rahi hogi!" She said. Abir walked towards her and hugged her from behind and tucked his chin in the nook of her shoulder and smiled at their reflection. Mishti smiled and asked, "still feels like a dream na?" She asked. He shook his head and said, "you're all my dreams come true Mishti." He admitted and kissed her temple. Mishti smiled shyly. Abir pulled away and then got ready. The family gathered together and Kunal surprised Meenakshi. The family was finally happy and laughing together. Although kunal and Abir wanted to cook, but dinner was already prepared so they had to postpone their plan. Meenakshi finally cut her cake and fed both her sons. Varun and his family reached the Rajvansh house and were welcomed by the entire family. Abir then said, "mein Mishti aur Nanko aaj Varun se pehli baar mil rahe hain, toh hum log dinner roof pe karte hain, aur aap saare senior citizens yahan baithye. Is that okay Ma?" He asked Meenakshi. To everyone's surprise Meenakshi nodded and the youngsters had a table set up on the roof.
Once on the roof, kunal told Varun.
"Varun, you seem like a nice guy, but Ketu is our baby sister. So we have a few questions that we need you to answer." Kunal said sternly. Varun nodded sheepishly. Abir put an arm around Ketu as they sat in the background and watched kunal and Mishti grill the poor guy.Mishti nodded at kunal to continue.
"Are you happy about this relationship or are you agreeing because of your family?" Kunal asked. Varun said, "I'm very happy with ketki and I'm in this relationship voluntarily and not because of my parents." Kunal nodded.
Mishti asked, "will you ever leave ketki alone?" Varun shook his head and said, "I'll be by her side even when the entire world is against us." Mishti nodded and Kunal continued, "will you ever make ketki cry?" Abir suppressed a grin.
"I'll try my best to always make ketki smile." Came Varun's reply. Kunal nodded at how realistic his answer was. Mishti asked, "will you ever hurt ketki?" She finally asked. He shook his head and said, "I'll try and never hurt her, but if I ever do hurt her by mistake, I'll make up for it." Varun answered. Abir decided to step in and asked, "if there ever comes a time where ketki's self respect is compromised, what will you do?" Abir asked. Varun sighed and said, "ketki's happiness and self respect are my happiness and self respect and I will never let her do anything that will compromise her self respect." He answered. Abir nodded and smiled at the answer. Kunal and Mishti shared a look as Mishti said, "well then, we approve of you Varun. But yaad rakhna, agar tumne kabhi bhi, ketu ko hurt kiya na, toh tumhe meri brown belt se koi nahi bacha payega." Mishti said with mock seriousness. Abir suppressed a grin at the scared look on Varun's face and said, "trust me, she means it." He said. Ketki groaned in embarrassment. Kunal finally laughed and put a hand on Varun's shoulder and said, "welcome to the family." Varun sighed in relief as Abir and Mishti burst out laughing.
Mishti then said, "Varun, Ketu is really special to all of us. Humari kahani ketu ki wajah se hi shuru hui thi, and it's only because of her that we're all happily married today. She's had her heart broken once and we don't want her to go through that pain again. Which is why we were grilling you. But now that we know that you're just as serious about Ketu, we're really happy for the both of you." She said. Varun smiled at that and said, "I promise to try my hardest to always keep her happy." He promised as ketki blushed.
Everyone smiled and finally sat down for dinner. When no one was looking Mishti silently thanked Varun and said, "Abir ne mujhe bataya ki aaj tumne meri jaan bachayi, so thank you." She said with a smile. Varun smiled back and said, "not a problem bhabhi. That's what family does." He smiled.Abir saw this interaction and smiled at the genuine sukoon and mirth on Mishti's face after the most traumatic three months of their life. Kuhu stood on the sidelines, refusing to be a part of the festivities.
