Chapter 1

*siren blaring*

*gunshots*

Mizuki Pov

I clenched my fingers on the cold metal. My partner, Daiki, being held hostage.

"Put down your gun or else your partner dies!" Minz demanded.

"I know you wouldn't shoot him and if you did than harming him is dumber than harming those 12 other citizens", I calmly stated.

I was buying time so the Swat team could come but unexpectedly,

"If you bring in the Swat team than he dies and so do you!"

My eyes sort of widened shocked that he would say such things.

"Fine...", I mumbled before saying, "S.W.A.T team stand down. I repeat stand down"

"There! They're not coming up the building, you can let him go", I said.

"Put down your gun or else!" Minz kept demanding.

I slowly dropped my gun on the floor and put my hands to the side. He quickly let go of Daiki before bolting towards the stairs which lead to the roof.

"He's getting away!" I yelled before pursuing him. Daiki momentarily froze before following me.

I ran as fast as my legs could take me but when we got there I couldn't find Minz anywhere.

"Sh*t!" I cussed.

I noticed the zip line that was attached to the building beside us.

I grabbed my walkie-talkie and said, "We have a code red! Minz escaped! Block the roads in a 1-mile radius! Clear the citizens and bring them to safety. We have a manhunt to do"

I looked at the emerald-eyed male beside me and gave him a look.

"What?!" he asked.

"Don't what me! You're a godforsaken sergeant and you were held, hostage!"

He gave me the offended look and held his hand to his chest.

I sighed before continuing, "We'll have this talk with the cap anyways. Let's go get the bastard"

We got out of the building and checked on how the manhunt is going.

"We found Minz. He's at Gallway St!" my walkie-talkie reported.

"We're on our way!" I replied before dragging Daiki into the car.

I stepped in the gas pedal and sped off. We arrived at the Galway St, looking out for Minz.

"Found him!" Daiki yelled pointing at Minz.

Minz saw us and panicked. He bolted into an alleyway that's large enough for two people but not a car.

"Fu*k!" I cussed before getting off the car.

"I'll pursue him on foot. You roundabout and cut him off!" I instructed before running at Minz.

My heartbeat faster, pumping more blood allowing adrenalin to course through me. I was jumping over fences, walls, following Minz through everywhere.

"Stop already!" I yelled in frustration.

Man... This guy's stubborn but, who wouldn't be if the law is chasing you.

He shot his gun towards me, I moved my head dodging but it grazed my cheek. He pulled the trigger but it seems to be out of bullets so the smartest thing he did was threw it at me.
