second chapter

FLASHBACK

I was looking for a club to join in while Jungkook wanted to join the basketball team. I was looking on the bulletin board when a deep voice broke my thoughts,

"Any club that interests you?"

I turned around and saw a guy in his brown coat and beret, looking like someone I met not so long ago.

"Hello?" He said, making me come back in reality

"Um, hey." I answered and smiled shyly.

"You're spacing out." He commented.

"You look familiar. That's why I'm thinking." I answered back.

"Barista from Namjoon-hyung's cafe." He replied.

"Oh yeah. I remember." I said, "Taehyung, right?"

"Yes, that is me. So, any club that interests you?" He repeated his question.

"Still not decided. I am thinking of book club or astronomy club. Any suggestions?" I replied, looking away from him and fixing my eyes on the book club poster.

"Well, since you asked me, why not the theater club?" He said.

"There is? But there's no poster here." I replied, going through the posters once more, maybe I overlooked at it.

"I was just about to post it. I'm the club president." He answered. After posting it, he let me read it for a short while and then asked me, "would you be interested in joining the theater club? Someone as stunning as you would look lovely as Elizabeth Bennet for the upcoming play."

I looked at his way and gave him a small smile, "Is this your way of inviting girls to join your club?"

He laughed, which sounded lovely to my ears, "Not at all. Only to you. So, try out at the auditions." He replied with a wink.

What a flirty guy!, I thought.

In the end, I did come for the auditions and got the role. Little did I know, he was playing as Mr. Darcy, which brought us closer instantly due to late night practices and rehearsals.

He confessed his feelings after the play, but I rejected him because I wasn't ready yet. It was too early for feelings to blossom, doesn't it?

"I can't say that I like you as well. It hasn't been a year of knowing each other, and having romantic feelings is too early at this point." I told him.

He only nodded with understanding, letting an awkward silence pass by for a while before he changed the topic into a different one.

After his graduation ceremony, we celebrated in Namjoon-hyung's café together with our hyungs and Jungkook. A video from Jimin-hyung's phone was shown to me wherein Taehyung was singing at their apartment. I got confused as to why he didn't join the music club instead. He answered that it was only recently when he realized his love for music as well, so he wanted to pursue it.

After a brief silence, he asked if I could join him outside to have some fresh air. There, he reprised his role as Mr. Darcy in front of me.

He whispered as he stared into my eyes, "My affections and wishes have not changed, but one word from you will silence me forever. If, however, your feelings have changed, I will have to tell you: you have bewitched me, body and soul, and I love--I love--I love you. I never wish to be parted from you from this day on."

I didn't know what to answer. My mind was like a a river flowing with a lot of questions. Is he serious? Does he really still have feelings for me? What if he is just saying that because found out I like him back? No, he wouldn't. He is the sweetest person I've met.
