Mortals Meet the Demigods

Marina Mills

Hi, I'm Marina Mills and I'm Percy Jackson's soulmate. I'm also his best friend and I know him better than anyone. I would die for him and I sure he would die for me. He has dreamy sea-green eyes, black hair that looks as if it never been brushed, and lots of muscles. I have dirty blond hair and blue-grey eyes.

The other day I heard Percy describing his girlfriend. He said she has the most beautiful grey eyes he's ever seen and blond hair. He said that she has a tan and she's really strong and smart. The way he described her, you would think that she was a goddess. I have blue-grey eyes so that's right, and then I have dirty blond hair so that's right, and I don't have a tan but I'm smart. I'm not strong either but whatever.

I want to ask him out and I just know he'll say yes. He's always smiling at me and he laughs at my jokes. So today before class I'm going to ask him out.

*Time Skip to School*

I walk up to Percy who's standing at his locker. "Hey Perce". "Hey Marina," he said smiling at me. "So do you want to-?" I was cut off by Percy as he said: "Wait". "What?" I asked. "I smell something," he said. "What?" I asked again. "Annabeth, Annabeth". Whose Annabeth? I ask myself. He leaves his locker and seems to start looking for someone. All of a sudden a girl appears from nowhere behind Percy. She puts her hands over his eyes and says "Guess who?". 

Percy flinches and reaches for his pocket. "Percy," the girl says he turns around. "Wise Girl!" he said in surprise. He picks her up and hugs her. "Hey, seaweed brain". They kiss, hold on they kiss! 

What? Who is this girl? Percy puts her down and says "Annabeth what are you doing here" "I came to surprise you but I couldn't because you smelled me". He puts his arm around her and they walk over to me. "Marina this is my wi-girlfriend and best friend, Annabeth Jackson" "I can introduce myself," Annabeth said then, she elbowed him. She elbowed my Percy! "So how long have you guys known each other?" I ask, Hoping they just met. "We met when we were 12 and started dating when we were 16". "Where did you guys meet?" "We met at summer camp". Oh, the infamous summer camp Percy is always talking about, which none of us can go to. 

"So Annabeth where do you go to school?" "Well starting today I go to school here". "Really! Wise girl," he said looking down at her. "Yes Percy". He smiles at her then kisses her. I feel a ping in my heart. "What class do you have next?" I ask her "Greek". Percy says "So do I," I say "We should probably get to class" "Probably"

*Time Skip to Greek*

In greek, I go to sit next to Percy but Annabeth beats me. She smiles at me as I slide into the seat next to her. Alright, class" Miss Simmons said. "Today we will be studying the underworld" Both Annabeth and Percy tense up. "Specifically" Miss Simmons continues "Tartarus" Annabeth's hand shoots across the aisle. Percy's hand shoots out at the same time and they grab each other's hand and lace their fingers together. I look away. "While according to Greek mythology the realm of Hades is the place of the dead, Tartarus also has a number of inhabitants.Kronus and many of the other Titans were banished to Tartarus at the end of the Titan war". Both Annabeth and Percy are paperwhite. All of a sudden Annabeth starts shaking and crying. The whole class stops to look at her she starts screaming, "Percy don't leave me, Percy". How pathetic I think she's that worried that Percy will dump her for me, wow. 

Percy starts crying and screaming too "Annabeth, Annabeth where are you?". They have both fallen out of their seats and their shaking and screaming and sobbing. "Percy," I say "Are you okay?". Miss Simmons says "We should call Percy's mom" she calls Percy's mom, and 8 minutes later Percy mom shows up. "Oh it happened again," she says. Percy screams "Annabeth, where are you" "Percy don't leave me" Annabeth shrieks. Percy's mom goes and takes Annabeth's backpack. She pulls out her phone, and she puts in the password and calls someone. 2 minutes later a group of teenagers show up. 

"What are we supposed to do?" a Latino elf asked. "I don't know, the only people who can stop these are them," said a Chinese guy answered. "Well, maybe we should pick them up and put them next to each other," said a girl with kaleidoscope eyes. The girls go to pick up Annabeth and the guys go to pick up Percy. It didn't go well. The girl with kaleidoscope eyes got a black eye and the Latino elf got a bloody nose. They set them next to each other. They seem to hear each other's voice. 

"Percy?" "Annabeth?" Annabeth goes and climbs into Percy's lap. I feel very angry how dare she do that to my man. She starts to rub circles in his back. He whispers into her ear "We're out, We're out, We're alive". They do this over and over. She looks up and says "Are you okay?" "Yeah, I think so, you?" "Yeah" she hugs him and they kiss. I roll my eyes, how pathetic. 

"Jackson, that was pathetic" the school jock, Peter Johnson yells from the back of the room. Annabeth turns and looks at him "What did you say" "I said that Jackson's pathetic but your not, my house at 7 o'clock my parents won't be there" he said winking at her. She gets up and looks at him like she's gonna kill him. It took all of the teenagers including Percy to hold her back. 

She punches the Latino elf in the stomach, she kicks the girl with kaleidoscope eyes in the nose and she kicks the blond guy with glasses in the crotch. Every single one of them gets hurt except for Percy who still has a grip on her. Percy strokes her hair and she calms her down. "Oh come on" I yell "Do you see how desperate she is? Look at her, she was screaming 'Percy dont leave me' like she's that worried that Percy will dump her for me". 

Percy turns to look at me no longer calm. "Don't insult Annabeth" he says then all of the teenagers and Percy and Annabeth leave the classroom and go to the hallway. I go and look in the hallway put their not their. What? I think but I never see Percy or Annabeth again, they never come back. I never figured out what happened that day.
