Chapter 2

Amy's P.O.V.

I'm in the living room watching the T.V. in horror. Mephiles is back. He's destroying a city not too far from here. My eyes are wide with fear. How could he do this? I'm just glad Shade's in the garage with Betty and not in here. "Mom?!" Shade asks from a different room. I quickly turn off the T.V. and open my book. "I'm still in here sweetie!" I call out. Shade comes in holding hands with Betty. I pretend not to notice. "I'm taking Betty home." Shade says rubbing the back of his neck. "Okay darling. That's fine." I say and look back at my book. "Bye mom." Shade says. "Bye Shade. Bye Betty. Tell Blaze and Silver I said hi." I order. "I will Mrs. Rose." Betty says as they walk out the door. I sigh and turn on the T.V. "Forty people dead, sixty people very injured, seventy people harmed, and ninety people with minor injuries. Not one person has been spared in this attack from Mephiles. Who can stop this terrible menace? This is Winter Fox signing out." the newscaster woman finishes on the T.V. My eyes widen in horror and droop in sadness. "I didn't think I'd ever see the day where the Sonic Team was needed again. I guess it's time to round up the team again." I say sadly as I picks up my phone.

Shadow's P.O.V.

Ring...ring...ring... "Hello?" I ask picking up the phone. Shadow? It's Amy. Mephiles is back. The gang is getting back together. Amy says on the phone. My eyes widen and the phone slips from my hand. The line goes dead and I'm frozen in fear. No matter how long I've worked for G.U.N. I always knew he would come back. I just don't understand why now? When we got Henry back they could've attacked right then but they didn't. Why did they wait? Why now? I ponder this for a while. My eyes close and my hand goes to my chin. My eyes shoot open. Shade!

Henry's P.O.V.

"So we're going to go to Cheryl's house?" I ask Kitty. She's a white cat with stormy grey eyes. She wears a dark purple, low cut tank top, white leggings, and black knee high boots. She wears a black beanie and black biker gloves. "Yes. I haven't seen her in a while and I would very much like to see her again. I called her yesterday and she's getting out of school soon. We have to be there when she gets home." Kitty explains. I get in the passenger seat of the purple convertible. Kitty slides into the drivers seat. She turns on the engine. "So, how's Shade?" Kitty asks. My body stiffens as I remember my vision's I've been having since we found out Shade would be a boy. Shade and I are back to back fighting Daren, Mephiles, Egghead, and Scourge. "He's fine." I state flatly. Kitty raises her eyebrow at me but doesn't say anything. The rest of the drove is quiet as we drive down the road. We arrive at Cheryl's house and Kitty knocks. Cheryl opens the door and hugs Kitty. "Kitty do you mind if we wait out here? Betty's going to be here soon. She was over at Shade's house." Cheryl explains. Kitty nods. "It's quite alright." Kitty assures. I hear footsteps to my left and look over. My eyes meet with my brother's. Shade.

Shade's P.O.V.

I walk Betty home and I see Henry. I stop in my tracks as Betty walks on. He could come here for his girlfriend but not for us? My eyes narrow at Henry as his eyes are wide with fear. Why is Henry afraid? My gaze softens. "Henry?" I ask uncertain. "Yeah Shade. It's me. How's it going brother?" Henry asks though I doubt he cares. "Good. Mom and dad miss you. You should come over. I'm sure KItty wouldn't mind if you saw your family. Would you Kitty?" I ask her. She shakes her head. "Go on home Henry. Come back when you're done and if I'm done here we'll go back to campus." Kitty says giving him a slight shove. Henry walks with me home. "So, you could come here for your girlfriend but not for your family huh?" I asks accusingly very angry at him. "I don't need to explain my reasons to you. This is all to real." Henry mutters that last part but I catch it. "What's all to real?" I ask. We're at the front door. "Nothing you need to worry about right now. Is mom home? I know dad's at work at the agency." Henry says. No one tells me what agency it is. It's just 'the agency'. "Mom's home and yes dad's at the agency." I answer. We go inside. Mom's in the hall and she looks shaken. She spots Henry and runs to him giving him a hug and sobbing. "They're back Henry. They're back." mom whispers. "Who's back?" I ask utterly confused. Mom turns to me and looks at Henry. "It's time to tell him. We knew the time would come." mom says looking at Henry. "No. My vision I told you about will become to real." Henry says his voice breaking as he glances at me with worry in his eyes. "Honey it's going to happen anyway. Do you want to tell him or shall I?" mom asks. Henry sighs. "No, I'll do it madre. Is padre going to be home soon? Did you tell him?" Henry asks. "Yes. I told him. I don't know if he's coming home or not." mom says. "I don't want to tell Ombra." Henry says. Since when did Henry speak italian. "You must tell Shade." mom says. "Madre." Henry whines. "Henry Non voglio sentirlo! Fate come tua madre chiede!" mom yells in anger. Let me translate. My family speaks Italian. She said, Henry I don't want to hear it! Do as your mother asks! "Yes madre." Henry says shamefully. "Ombra, sorry, Shade, there is a secret we have kept from you. For good reason too. When I was five years old, at our parents wedding. I was kidnapped from them by four evil men. Daren, Mephiles, Eggman, and Scourge. Daren wanted to make me happy for some reason. He made Aunt Sally a robot at the time. She took control of herself and took me home. They never showed up again until now. Now you know the story." Henry said. "Wait, mom and dad had you before they were married?" I asked in disbelief. Henry looked saddened by this comment. "No. My actual parents are in jail. They abused me and madre and padre took me in. Everyone found out about them after I was saved when they said I couldn't see Sally anymore. Madre was chewing them out and I blurted out that they beat me. Madre and padre saved me and my old parents were taken to jail." Henry explained and tears formed in the corner of his eyes. "You said a vision. What vision?" I ask. "Well, see. You and I are standing back to back fighting these criminals. I didn't want to tell you 'cause now it makes everything real when I could pretend this was a dream." Henry said sadly. "So we're going to fight them? With who? I don't know how to fight yet." I say confused. "That's because we're not fighting alone. The Sonic team is fighting this." mom said proudly.
