Chapter 4

Shadow's P.O.V.

I hurry home and find Henry there. I give him a man hug. "I missed you Henry." I say. Henry rubs the back of his neck. "I missed you too padre." Henry says nervously. Shade huffs and crosses his arms. Shade looks away. I look at Amy confused. She cocks her head towards Henry. I nod. "C'mon Shade. Let's go in the living room and check the news to see if Mephiles has hit anywhere else today. I say leading Shade to the living room. We go in. "Shade why are you mad at Henry?" I ask. "Hmp." Shade says angrily. "Ombra tell me. Maybe I can help." I offer. "No. Henry knows what he did. Madre nor you can help. Henry's just a coward." Shade says through gritted teeth. "Ombre." I say impatiently. "Padre. Henry didn't visit us because he was afraid of his vision becoming to real for him to handle. He was a coward and his cowardness has caused my anger. Only my fratello can fix this. And unless he can go back in time I guess there's no fixing it." Shade says angrily. "Ombre e necessario capire Henry ha passato molto nella vita. A cinque anni ha dovuto preoccuparsi per la sua vita. (Shade, you need to understand Henry's been through a lot in his life. At five years of age he had to worry for his life.)" I explain. Shade huffs. "So? I'm a teenager and something evil's coming here. I'm not running away from my problems." Shade points out. I sigh. "I never said it justifies his actions. I'm just saying now you know why he is the way he is. He's very brave when he needs to be. I think he just couldn't bare the thought of loosing you because he loves you so much. You ever think of that?" I ask walking out of the room.

Shade's P.O.V.

"You ever think of that?" padre asks walking out of the room. I sigh. I run my hand through my quills. The truth was no, I didn't think of that. I've never thought about it that way. I'd always thought about it like he was betraying me. Like, he didn't love me and he was running away from me and his problems. The truth was, I felt rejected. I felt like my brother abondoned me and my family when we needed him and missed him. I never thought of it as a love kinda thing. I always blamed him and his cowardness and heartlessness. I never imagined that he would do that because he, loved me. I guess I just jumped to conclusions. Man, now I feel like a jerk. Stupid, stupid Ombre. I walk into the hall and go to Henry. Tears form in the corners of my eyes. I hug him. I bury my face in his chest, tears rinning down my face. "I missed you Henry." I croak out. Henry hugs me back. "I missed you to Shade." Henry says thoughtfully and puts his head on top of mine. A knock on the door ruins the moment and we release each other. I wipe my tears away. Madre opens the door.

Henry's P.O.V.

Mom opens the door and Sonic and Sally are there. I smile and run to Sally as Sonic sets her down. "Sally!" I cry out engulfing her in a hug. "Henry! I missed you." Sally exclaims. We release each other. "You're so tall now! You're taller than me. You've grown a lot since I've last seen you." Sally notes. "Well ya know. I'm pretty awesome." I say smugly with a smirk on my face. Sally laughs. I notice a hedgehog behind Sally. "Who's this?" I ask bending down to the hedgehog's level. "It's our son, Jon. He's ten now." Sally explains. Jon stays behind Sally hugging her leg. I smile at him. He hides his face. Shade comes around me and rolls his eyes. "Hey Jon. I'm Shade. Don't worry about Henry over there. He won't bite. You want me to show you my comic collection?" Shade asks the shy hedgehog. He peeks out and smiles. He nods and follows Shade. "Shade is great with people. He just gets themlike he knows what they want and what's on their mind." mom explains thoughtfully. My eyes widen. "Mom, do you think he could be a telapath?"

Amy's P.O.V.

"Mom, do you think he could be a telapath?" Henry asks me wide eyed. "I wouldn't be suprised. He always has a nick of things when it comes to knowing what's on people's mind." I say laughing. Henry still won't relax. "C'mon Henry. Follow me. Shadow, let everyone else coming come in. I got to go somewhere with Henry." I say leading Henry to the basent where Shade's room is. "Shade?!" I call out. "In here mom!" Shade calls back. We enter his room. "Henry's got a question for you. Ask him Henry." I say nudging my son. "Um, Shade, are telapathic?" Henry asks nervously. Shade's smile disapears. He nods. Fear floods into Henry's eyes. "O-okay. See ya later. I'm heading upstairs." Henry says nervously. Shade looks at me. I shrug. "I don't know why he's scared." I say. "I do." he mutters. "Oh my gosh I can't believe it! This is a one of a kind! They've only made one of these ever! This is worth like a billion dollars!" Jon cries out. Shade smiles. "Yep. Nobody's buying it from me. I'm a collecter, not a seller." Shade says. Jon beams at him. "You are probably the coolest guy I know." Jon says awestruck at Shade. Shade smiles and rubs the back of his neck. "I don't know about that." Shade says uncertain. I roll my eyes at Shade. "But you are." Jon insists. "If you say so Jon. If you say so." Shade says still in denial. "Jon, do you mind if I still Shade from you?" I ask Jon. Jon nods an approval. I smile and take Shade to the next room. "Why is Henry afraid of you Ombra?" I ask confuses. Shade sighs and runs his hand through his quills. "Well, you see, in one of his visions a telapath gets killed. He believes its me. I can tell it's not me because of the shape. It's also not a hedgehog but Henry just jumps to conclusions. It's a bird telapath. Not me." Shade explains. "Ah." I nod in understandment. "You have fun with your number one fan down here and I'll send the rest of the kids that show up down here." I say with a smirk. Shade rolls his eyes and smiles. He goes back to his room. I go upstairs and greet my friends. Hopefully we can save them all.
