The pattering of the rain hitting against the windows seemed to sooth my thoughts. After the day I had hot chocolate with Apollo, the rain continued for the rest of the week. I got lost, staring at the rain.

Ive always seemed to love rain, at least when I have an umbrella or am inside while it rains. It was one of those things that doesn't seem beautiful to many, but to me it was. When I was still in foster care I would always run outside whenever it was raining. That was the only way I could feel like a child while I was growing up. One of my favorite feelings is dancing in the rain. It gives me time to feel like the child I never got to be unless it rained.

My eyes lost focus of the rain and landed on my reflection in the glass of the window. A small smile had pushed away the frown that occupied my face earlier.

"Cassie?" A strong voice brought me back to the present.

"Hmm?" I glanced away from the window behind him.

"Can you bring me some coffee from that cafe on the first floor," I nodded and stood up from my chair.

"Two sugars, one cream, and a dash of cinnamon. Right?"

He grinned and nodded, "You're the best. Really."

I quickly exited the office and strolled to the elevator, pressing the metallic button and stepping back. I crossed my arms and sighed. This month has started off crazier then I ever could have imagined it would. I almost wish everything could go back to the way it was, that this was all just a crazy dream. I was tempted to pinch myself but I knew that wouldn't wake me up from the insanity. I had already tried.

Mr. Trident didn't lie, he's been very kind to me since his abrupt change in attitude. He hadn't yelled at me once since Friday. Although the change was one for the better, I couldn't help but become suspicious of it. It didn't make since

The light above the elevator lit up, signaling its arrival. The metal doors opened as slow as they possibly could, causing my patience to dwindle. The elevator doors opened to reveal a familiar face. One of the gods that had been in my apartment just the other day. It was Artemis. She wore a deep red blouse paired with a dark grey pencil skirt. A tweed Chanel bag that reeked of wealth accentuated her look.

As she gracefully left the elevator our eyes met briefly. She stared at me with those icy eyes until she turned and continued her walk to Mr. Trident's office. I quickly boarded the roomy elevator and repeatedly pressed the metal button for the first floor. I didn't expect to see any of them after that conversation. She obviously wasn't here for me, but why would she be here to see Mr. Trident. I gripped the shiny rail to my left as the thoughts in head caused a headache.

The elevator doors opened, displaying an unusually empty first floor. I was used to seeing a blur of people rushing around but I could only see a handful of people. I got off of the elevator and walked to the cafe in the corner. The barista smiled at me when she noticed me approaching.

"The usual?"

"Yep," I sat at the counter in front of her and propped my chin up with my hands, "thanks Talia."

"Of course."

I wiggled my eyebrows at her as she began to make the cup of coffee, "Hows the boyfriend?"

She looked up at me and held out her left hand. Her ring finger was sporting the most gorgeous diamond ring I have ever seen in person.

"Actually he's my fiancé now," she was giddy with excitement as she spoke.

I squealed, "Talia that's amazing," I held her hand to get another look at the ring, "and that ring! It's gorgeous!"

I let go of her hand as she began to make the coffee again.
