Ikuya was laying on his bed as he texted his childhood crush. He stared at the girl's name through the phone screen as he couldn't help but smile. He soon frowned a bit, remembering when he met Haru a couple of hours ago.
"Back in middle school...I'm sorry for quitting the swim club without saying anything...I was just" the raven haired boy glanced away from the teal haired boy, rubbing the back of his neck
"Forget about it. It doesn't bother me. Besides, it's all in the past now." Ikuya didn't look at him either as they stood a few feet apart from each other.
"The past?" He questioned as his amber eyes met with the male's blue ones.
"Hey there you!" Hearing Hiyori's voice, his attention was averted to his other friend.
"I told you you could go home, its fine" he said, questioning why he didn't just go home.
"I know, but I was just curious." He smiled at him before looking over at Haru. I look over at him as well before I notice Y/n.
"Haru? Did you find your towel?" She questioned. Her gaze went from Haru to the two boys in front of them. "Ikuya" she said. She had a soft smile before looking at Hiyori, a small scowl formed on her face before she quickly smiled at him. "Sorry, I didn't interrupt anything did I?" She questioned, walking over to Haru, standing next to him.
"No, of course not" Hiyori said with a smile. "I just wanted to say that Ikuya is a bit tired is all. So it'd be best if he quickly got home to rest."
"Of course!" Y/n smiled. Even though she smiled, it was obvious that she was glaring at Hiyori. The tension between the two adults grew in the atmosphere, making it a bit awkward.
"Come on Ikuya, let's get going." The brown haired male said, now looking at the teal haired boy.
"Oh..right.." he said. Hiyori pushed Ikuya back to the direction they were heading to as Ikuya glanced back at the two. Haru and Y/n seemed to be talking as she had a worried expression before her gaze went to the boys that were leaving. Their eyes met as her expression changed into a soft smile, a way to tell him goodbye.
He sighed softly to himself while looking up at the ceiling. The girl he was so infatuated with started to fill up his mind, and remember when they met after so many years.
"Wait!" He heard her say as he felt a small tug on his jacket. He stopped in his tracks and looked over at her as she retracted her hand, muttering a small apology.
He smiled, seeing her shyness. "Its fine" he reassured. She nodded a bit as she held one of her wrists.
"So um..." she trailed off as he waited for her to continue.
He noticed her starting to play with the hem of her shirt, which made his smile grow a little more, seeing that her nervous habit hadn't changed.
"I was wondering if...If I could have your number" she said. He looked at her with a bit of a surprised look, not expecting her to be so bold. She still had a nervous expression, scared of what the boy in front of her might say.
"Sure" he says, the smile still on his face. Her expression changed as she soon had a smile on her face. They exchanged phone numbers as he stared at her contact info, not helping to feel a bit excited. "I'll text you later then" he said before looking at the girl.
