CHAPTER 2 (Instagram version) cover!
——————————————————————————————————————
I walked down the street trying to find the café Ella told me about. I heard about the café two days ago which just opened in the town. I heard they transferred from where they were settled before. They changed their employees and of course the furniture and all. I took out my phone and sent a quick text to Ella telling her I'm here.I haven't met Ella in days, so I'm pretty excited to see her. The talks from today clouded my mind 'don't let this affect you' Marie has been saying this to me since I got to know about 'THE DATE' Marie, she was here with me through thick and thin, I don't know what happened to my parents.
Never heard of them and I never asked about them, because I'm too scared to listen to what happened to them, at that moment Marie held my hand, Strong. And here I'm today. I decided to follow Marie's mantra today. "Don't let this affect you." I sighed and saw the sign "open" I opened the door in front of me with a ding sound.I stepped in as the roasted coffee beans smell made its way to my nose. A smile formed on my face, the silent murmurs from people sitting there filled my ears. My eyes roamed throughout the place... the café was beautiful the brown wall and white table and chairs go very well together, the low hung lamps make the café more beautiful, whereas there was this huge transparent window facing the street with a huge long desk and chairs stacked.
Soon my eyes landed on the blond girl sitting with a book in her hand. She looks so intrigued, I walked towards where she was sitting. "Hey!"- I said, she looked up and a small smile appeared on her face. "Hey!"- she breathed as she closed her book and kept it in her handbag. I took a seat in front of her. Ella, Ella hemmings, my one and only friend in this whole world. "What were you reading?"- I asked trying to make a quick talk, things were weird today. "Uh... Nothing."- she said as she looked around the café. "It's cool café isn't it?"- she asked, what is up with her? "Yes, it is."- I said looking around as well. "Did you order?"- I asked and she shook her head.
"You seem quite, what's wrong?"- I blurted, she looked up from the menu and shook her head in nothing and gazed at the menu again. I knew she is hiding something. "Ella.."- I pressed as I put her menu down so she can look at me. "Nothing is wrong!"- she snapped a little louder then what I expected.
I looked at her questionably. She sighed and runs her fingers through her hair. "Do you even know what happening?"- she asked and I looked at her, confused. Her eyes filled with tears almost threatening to fall anytime. I shook my head, and she let out a scoff. "Ella-"- I started but she sent me an ice-cold glare and I stopped.
"Don't."- she said, and I shook my head and try to hold her hand but she shook me off. "Stop!"- she exclaimed as few of the people around us glared at us. I tried stopping her, stopping her from whatever she is doing to herself, doing to me. "No, Ella please don't."- I said as I felt back of eye burn. "What do you mean NO?"- she exclaimed as a hot tear rolled on her cheek, I felt numbness taking over me. I knew what was coming. "Do you even know what is going to happen? You are gonna leave me forever!"- she said as her voice broke in the end. I closed shut my eyes. She said what I was running from. Don't let this affect you.
"I-"- I started but failed, I looked at her, she wiped her tears from her cheeks. "Ella-"- I started again but this time she stopped me. "No. Don't Jenna. Don't make me care about you. At the end of the day, I'm gonna end up hurt. Hurt that you left me. Hurt that you are not with me for the rest of my life. Hurt that you never told me anything about this!"- she said, the last words coming louder than the rest of it.
The numbness was taken over my whole body, I never realised how my knuckles turned white due to a strong fist I made underneath the table. "I can't do this."- said she as she stood up from the table, I was this numb I didn't stop her. I stay seated as she walked out of the café and I heard the "ding" sound again.
The murmurs of people that were pleasing to me in the starting started hurting my head now. A fresh hot tear slipped on my fist and I let out a shaky breath. Marie's words ranged in my head but the only thing I can do right now is thinking about how I'm gonna end up leaving everyone in pain.
"This is my fault."- I breathed and looked up, people around me don't have a smile on their faces, the smile that Marie or Ella wears usually. Their faces are blank just like a robot and somehow is like mine. The dullness and the hollow eyes. I wiped my tears and decided to exit the café. With a "ding" sound I exited the café and looked down the street where Ella ran. "You will hurt me!" Ranged in my head and I closed my eyes and took a deep breath in and started walking to the store for buying things for Marie.
A trip to the store was short as Marie already completed her packing. I bought whatever was written on the list and decided to walk back home. After exiting the store I walked down the familiar street, houses were lined up on one side all of them was almost the same height, but all of them have a different vide to it.
Walking down the street I found a deserted road leading somewhere in the woods. I stared at it for a minute or two. I never saw this before, I felt my phone rang in my pocket "Marie" I received the call before giving a last glance to the deserted road. "Hey."- I said, "Hey!"- she chirped, "can you come home soon? I kinda need your help. If not it will be fine."- she said in one breath I laughed and told her That I will be there in 5 minutes. She laughed on the other side and I ended the call and starting walking down the familiar street.
