Yami Pov

"I told you Yugi. I told you," I tell my betrothed. I can hear and feel him wince. "I'll see you soon." I hang up and toss the phone to my dad, King Aknamkanon. He raises an eyebrow in confusion.

"Yugi rejected me again today and I told him that I would have him and he pointed out that if I was betrothed it wouldn't happen. Now I am betrothed to Yugi and he's mine," I ramble, my words filled with venom for a weird reason.

"Well that's good... I guess," my mother, Mana, says. I nod my head just as I hear the doorbell. I launch myself out of my chair and towards the front door. I open it to see Yugi standing there in a very cute kimono. I open the door wider and grab Yugi, pulling him into my chest.

He tries to push me away, but I don't let the boy go until I manage to plant a kiss on his lips. "You're enjoying this aren't you," Yugi hisses at me, still staring at the ground. "You're enjoying the fact that I'm forced to love you when the feelings I used to have were crushed by you and your fucking friends."

I wince at these words. He-He used to have feelings for me? When I was younger, my friends would tease and bully him under my name, saying that I was telling those jerks to hurt him. Is it their fault that he's not mine?

"I never told them to do anything," I growl. Yugi's eyes widen in fright and he backs away from me. "Sorry Yugi. I didn't mean to scare you. It's just that they were horrible friends and hurt you to hurt me. I'm sorry, they told me that they stopped."

"Well, it still doesn't give you an excuse for messing with my sixth through eighth grade science fairs. I know those were you because you left notes and I caught you during the seventh grade," he whispers, still staring at the ground.

Shit. I was a jerk during middle school. I thought the only way to get Yugi's attention was to mess with him but that only ended up with him pushing away me and my friends. I've had the biggest crush on Yugi since the third grade. Ever since he was forced to leave.

"Wait, what," Yugi asks, staring up at me with confusion.

"D-Did I say all that out loud," I ask, suddenly scared.

"Yeah, but what did you mean by 'Ever since he was forced to leave?'" He asks, looking behind me to where his 'grandpa' and my parents were standing, watching us with hungry eyes.

"Yugi," my mother starts walking forward. "It's been years since we last saw you. How's life with Solomon? And Yugi, you're going to be living with us in the castle from now on so that Mr. Solomon can go back to his work."

"Wha-What do you mean," Yugi stutters.

"Yugi, your parents and I were good friends. Well, your mother and father were servants here, but probably the highest rank. When we found out they were having a child and I was having one, we decided to promise you to one another, no matter what.

"Sadly, only a week after Yami was born, you came early. Five months early to be exact. Your mother died after giving birth to you and your father died only days after. I took you in and raised you like my own. You and Yami looked similar enough at the time, so I could get away with walking with you around the palace.

"But once you turned five, there started to be some major differences in how you looked. Yugi was and is very short, while Yami was and is now very tall. Yami was and is very tan, while Yugi was and is very pale. Your hair is different too. Yugi's is gravity-defying but not as much as Yami's and Yami's eyes turned crimson while Yugi's stayed amethyst. We knew that we either had to send you away or be forced to raise you as a scullery maid or something. We decided to send you away after weeks of debating. Mr. Solomon volunteered to take you and we agreed, since he has been one of our most loyal friends for years. We managed to keep you until you were six before we knew we had to give you over to him. We washed your brain so that you wouldn't remember us. That was the year you and Yami both started kindergarten, at the same school."

"So my whole life has been a lie?" Yugi questions looking up at Mother, his eyes scared and full of fear. "Everything I've known is a lie?"

"No, not everything. The older you get, the more those memories will come back. You should be getting them all back during the next week or two and we gave the memories you had with us to you but with Mr. Solomon. I'm sorry if we've hurt you Yugi," Father tells the small teen.

"Fine. So what are we doing tonight?" Yugi grumbles, obviously still angry. I'm not used to seeing him angry. Even when I flirt with him, he never actually has this look...
