Jeez I posted this book and made the prologue in the same day, I'm surprised. That usually never happens. Well I hope you enjoy this chapter!

"Dude wait up!" Big Red yelled as he and Ricky skateboarded towards the school. Many students were outside hugging their friends or heading inside.

As Ricky skateboarded, an adult walked out of her car and he almost ran into her until she backed up. "Sorry!" He yelled and didn't stop.

The two soon stood in front of the school and got off their skateboard walking in. "Today's the day, Big Red. It's happening" Ricky smiled.

"Hell ya! Junior year baby! I might grow a mustache, might do many other crazy things" The red haired boy smiled. "Dude I was talking about Nini. Today is the day we start all over."

"Now I just need to find her" He sighed determination in his voice.

Ricky started walking and heard a familiar voice talk with new ones. "Oh cmon Ash, you know I'm not gonna a lead. And I'm ok with that, there's still next year."

He immediately stopped walking and his heart beat faster for some random reason. Ricky's eyes looked around to find his old best friend, Kyara.

She looked the same. Which isn't a bad thing, he always thought that she was pretty. Wait what?

"Ricky I found Nini!" Big Red shook his arm and pointed towards the girl talking to Kourtney. "Oh right" Ricky said now feeling slightly guilty for leaving Kyara.

He shook his head to get his thoughts back on Nini, "Yo Nini! What's good?" Ricky smiled at his girlfriend.

Nini looked at the taller figure and then sighed, "Hey. Can we talk?" 'Oh crap' Ricky said in his mind.

It was his idea to take a break, Nini was going to summer camp and he didnt exactly care about the guys over there. Nini on the other hand thought the pause wasn't necessary, they could have face timed every day.

"I met someone at camp. I didn't plan-" Nini started but only to get cut off my Ricky. "Wait is this a joke?" "Im still talking,A" The shorter girl said with an annoyed face.

"Look I met someone at camp. I didn't plan for it to happen, but it happened. He and I were the leads, the Music Man and Marian the librarian. It's called a showmance." Nini explained to Ricky a bit more calmer.

Ricky wasn't calm, he was shocked that she would just get with someone else while on the pause. "Please... tell me your joking." He said in a low voice as if he was going to cry.

"I'm not, Cmon Ricky you know what you did!" Nini now was just frustrated. "Or what you didn't do."

His mind raced to the memory when Nini wrote him the song revealing that she loved him. He regretted not saying those three words.

But he always had this one feeling that he didn't say those words because he was scared. Which he was, worried that she would leave him. Or because of something else.

"Everyone come into the gym for our beginning of the year assembly" The principle announced over the intercom.

"So you're throwing me off for some theatre punk you met at a lake?" Ricky looked at her in disbelief. "You kinda dumped me!" "It was a break, not a break-up!"

"Well it's a break up now." Kourtney and Nini walked away from Ricky and Big Red awkwardly as the two boys stood behind not knowing what to do.

"Let's go." Big Red said patting his friends shoulder. "Ya.." Ricky replied in a quiet voice.
