Brave

Chapter Two

Kai woke up to something smelling good. He climbed out of bed and stumbled into the kitchen, yawning. Zane was standing by the oven, making pancakes.

"Good morning Kai, I have finished breakfast. Could you get the others?"

"Sure. It smells delicious by the way!" Kai went into Cole and Jay's room and saw them arguing over who snored the loudest. "Er, guys? Zane made breakfast. Also, Cole, you definitely snored the loudest!" Kai left the room snickering while Cole looked outraged.

When he got back to the kitchen Nya was there, waiting on the boys. "Morning bro."

Kai nodded his response as he was still tired. He sat by her as Cole and Jay came out, Cole still looked mad while Jay looked quite pleased.

"Breakfast is served!" Zane gave them each a pancake, and put a plate down for himself.

Cole dug in, he loved it. The others all did as well, Zane's cooking truly was the best they had ever tasted.

"This is amazing, Zane! Who taught you how to cook?" Nya asked.

"Nobody. I taught myself."

"Congrats. This is way better than what Kai can cook by a landslide!"

"Hey! My cooking isn't bad! Although this is really good." Kai muttered as he finished his meal.

They went their separate ways, Cole and Jay hurrying to an arcade, Zane doing something for his brother, Kai and Nya walking towards Borg Tower.

"Borg Tower is the main production place of technology, Cyrus Borg owning the biggest company for technology in all of Ninjago. If we're lucky we can see the production areas. He's the first to make Nindroids." Nya spoke.

"Nin-whats?"

"A Nindroid. A fighting android. Hey, if Zane was a ninja then he'd be a Nindroid, making his father the first to make them."
Kai grinned. "I think Mr. Borg would still hold that title."

"True, but-" Nya cut herself off when she saw a group of people surrounding an alleyway and yelling. She and Kai went over there so he tapped someone on the shoulder.

"What's going on?"

The man he tapped on spoke. "Two hybrids were found living in the alley, we're getting them out."

Kai let Nya get on his back so she could see what's going on, as the crowd was thick. The man had already turned back to the alley.

Nya gasped and jumped back, nearly making Kai fall over. "Kai, come with me!" She grabbed his wrist and jerked him another way.
"Wha- Nya!"
Nya led Kai around the building to the other end. She and Kai looked over the wall to see Morro with his wings out to guard Lloyd, who had his small wings out and his tail tucked down. Morro's tail was up, showing he was a threat. The people were yelling and trying to grab him but he wasn't letting them.

"Morro!" Nya whispered.

Morro turned and his eyes widened when he saw Nya and Kai. Kai put a hand out and Lloyd turned to Morro who nodded.

Lloyd grabbed Kai's hand and Kai pulled him up, jumping down. Morro flew over and landed beside them.

"Come on, it's only a matter of time before we're cornered." Nya said. "Come to our dorm."

Lloyd pulled his hood over his face and Kai walked behind him to hide his wings. He had tucked his tail into the back of his hoodie best he could.
