My eyes flew open and shot to the door that had begun to open. I was frozen in fear, hoping whoever's was coming through the door was friend and not foe. It was still dark out, but in the faint kitchen light that was on I could see a familiar afro-topped man sneaking into the house.

"Christy?" He whispered, carefully closing the door.

I don't think I was graceful, but I jumped up and ran to him, throwing my arms around him.

"Oh, Don! I missed you so much!"

He dropped his bags, kissing my face all over before speaking again.

"I missed you too." He chuckled, catching my lips in a sweet kiss that lasted a little longer than I expected.

"So how'd it go? What's it like in England? Did Glenn behave?" The questions tumbled out of my mouth, and what seemed clear to me probably sounded mush-mouthed to Don.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, calm down, let me get settled in first, baby." He gave me another quick kiss, picked up his bags, and left into our room. He came back out with his eyebrows slightly pulled together. "Did you sleep on the couch last night?"

I glanced back to the small, plaid couch against the wall. After Linda and I hung up the phone, I had just passed out. I didn't care where I was.

"I guess." I smiled lazily, feeling him snake his arms around my torso and bury his face into my neck.

He took a deep breath in and kissed my shoulder. "God, you smell good..."

"Well I hope so." I laughed. "I showered before I went to sleep."

"I meant you smell like I remember."

I rolled my eyes and nuzzled up to his forehead.

"I'm glad I'm back home."

"Me too..."

Linda ended up coming home early Saturday morning, immediately calling to say that our party was going to start around 3 that afternoon. I thought it strange how chipper she sounded for four in the morning, and why she even thought about calling at that time, but I didn't think much of it afterward. But because she woke Don and me up with the phone call, we decided that we would go down to the beach and watch the sun rise.

It was a half baked plan, but light was just beginning to break over the horizon when we got to a spot on the beach. Don's sleepy eyes sparkling in the sunlight that streaked pink and tangerine across the morning sky. I missed waking up next to him every day. Seeing him with me again was everything I could wish for.

As the day went on, Don seemed to not be able to keep his hands off me. He was incredibly lovey and did everything he could to have an excuse to kiss me. On our way over to Linda and J.D.'s house, he appeared to be focused on the road, but kept my hand in his and pressed against his lips.

"What did I do to deserve this?" I giggled, watching him glance over at me from the corner of his eye.

"What do you mean?"

"You! You and your obsession with me today. Not that I'm complaining, but it's..."

"Do you want me to stop?"

"No!"

"Then what's the problem?"

"Don, there isn't a problem."

We both stopped, and I felt my breathing slowing. The road noise, now ever present. I opened my mouth to asked what he stopped short of, but he quickly and confidently asked:
