Sad truth

I couldn't think of any reply to come up with . I was staring directly into Stella's eyes which were kind of straining themselves to keep up with the urge to let out a cry .

I was not good at dealing with the news of deaths and anything of that kind .

I quickly got up and went to the teacher sitting in the front .

" excuse me ma'am ! I am not feeling well right now . I would complete the detention tomorrow. Please let me out ." I said hoping to get out as soon as possible.

The teacher got a hint of my uneasiness and let me out.

I was walking with my eyes on the floor .
Suddenly a pair of hands grabbed me from the front .
" hey what happened to you rosy ? " Aspen asked with his cute eyes searching for some answers in mine.

" I uh .. I am not feeling well . I am taking a half day leave now ." I said still my eyes on the floor

" Talk to me . What happened ? Do you need me to come with you ? " asked Aspen with concern.

I wanted answers . I was not sure from whom to seek them but Aspen seemed no harm. Even if I had decided to ask Giselle , it was better to ask him as I wouldn't be able to hear from her with her teary eyes .

" I heard from Stella .. that umm ..Katherine's sister ..can you tell me what happened ? " I asked thinking whether he would answer me or not .

But something unexpected happened .
A tear escaped from his left eye.

I was not sure about why he was so emotional . I mean yeah Katherine's his friend but his emotions coming up on surface told me that he was more attached with katherine's sister.

He grabbed my right arm and took me to the playground.
A fresh smell of garden grass hit me. I felt relieved a little bit.

I opened my mouth to change the topic but before that he cleared his throat and said "umm .. she passed away two years ago . She was a great person by heart . In fact everyone was. it's just that .....ah ... It was an accident" he completed his sentence controlling his tears.
" anything else you want to know ?" He asked .
I kept watching the ground.

Now it was me crying . I didn't realise when my tears were flooding through my eyes.

" Hey ...don't, please don't cry . I shouldn't have told you that . I never thought you were that emotional . You don't even know us properly . I am sorry. " He said as he shoved his white handkerchief from his pocket to me .

I grabbed it and dried the tears away from my cheeks.

" umm ... two years ago we had an accident too... I mean my family . We were on a trip to ..." before my completion Stella came running and hugged me.

" Please don't cry . It's over now. It has been two years. Also Katherine has recovered from it now. " said Stella.

" yup I am fine. " I said as I was able to bring a smile on my face.

" let's get some chocolate then ." Said Stella as she looked at her brother concerned. " umm .. yeah sure I'll bring some for both of you " replied Aspen.

Stella watched the sky and then she turned her eyes to the basket ball court where I was able to see some boys playing the sport.

She kept watching them play . Then I spotted Ashton playing along with the boys.

I don't know what was going on in her mind. I wondered about Ashton if he was as emotional as Aspen.

Then I thought why was she so much concerned about her brothers but I had many days left after the exam to think about this . So instead I spent the whole day keeping my head into the book.

Now we were very close to our examinations.

Everyone was in the zone of studying. The exams were going to decide our future.

I was not accompanied by Ryan on the way to home. And about Brady he used to leave early.

The next day.

I entered the school gate . And saw Katherine walking slowly towards wherever she was going.

" Hey Kat ! Why you so tired at the start of the day ? " I asked as I watched her upset face.

" Today we are going to have some surprise mock test. And that is making me so tired . I am not yet prepared you know. And I want to be on the top this time." She replied with a sigh.

" umm.. since you have told me that we are going to have a surprise test today so it is no more surprise for me.
But how did you get this information? " I asked hoping she was just playing around with me.

" ugh..I hate to tell this again and again that I have secret sources. Just listen to me and start preparing as they'll announce this in half an hour." She said with an irritated tone.

I said nothing to irritate her . Still she was being like this. I wondered whether she was like this to her friends or just me.

" I can't trust your sources when I don't know them. " I replied to make her more irritated.

" Take this ." Said Brady has he handed some medicine to her .

Oh so Kat was probably having a head ache or something . I thought to myself.

Katherine took the tablet and gulped it down her throat with a sip of water .

As she finished drinking more water and making some faces for the bitter taste, Brady said " here ! Drama queen! " as he gave a bar of chocolate to her.

I smiled as I remembered my dad giving me the medicines and holding my nose until the medicine is way down my throat.

" umm ..do you want some? " asked Brady as his voice brought me to reality .
Before I could say a no , Katherine said" nope ! She is in a far great mood to irritate anyone . She won't need it ."
As she grabbed the second chocolate bar from Brady's hand.

I was not in a mood to argue but I found some anger and may be jealousy about something in her . It was better to be away from her if she was having a headache as my presence would make it worse.

I was wandering in the school corridor just then I spotted Ryan leaving the school's store room .

" Ryan ! " I shouted as he was few classes away from me.

He was startled by my voice and immediately opened the door of the store room and threw something inside . That's what I saw from distance.
He closed the door and said " Hi Rose! What are you up to?"

" what are you up to? You just came outside and then again went inside the store room. Why were you inside the store room by the way ? " I asked raising an eyebrow.

Comment what you think about Aspen's emotional behaviour .

I think I am not good at coming up with suitable titles . So I may just start numbering the chapters . If you can give this chapter a name then please suggest !
