As soon as Noah left I sprint inside back to my bedroom slamming the door behind me, I had to call Isabel. As soon as I get inside my room and flick the light on I scream once I turn around. Sitting on my bed was krystal jumping up and down. "Oh my god, you scared me! What are you doing in here?" "Oh c'mon Ella, tell me everything! Was he handsome? Did you like him? Was he tall? Did he smell good?" I lean back into my door and slowly slide to the ground bringing my knees to my chest. How was I supposed to explain this whole soulmate thing? I have never heard of vampires having soul mates. This whole situation was throwing me off.
"Okay I'll answer all your questions as soon as you stop talking." She immediately smacked her mouth shut and kept bouncing waiting for her answers. "First I should call isabell so you guys can both hear how it went." "Ugh you're going to make me wait even longer?!" I giggle and walk over to the old vintage phone sitting on my night stand and dial Isabells number. On the third ring she answers and continues to question me just how krystal had. I put her on speaker "okay isabel you're on speaker so that I can tell both my girls how this went." Both went silent so I took that as my signal to get this over with. "Alright, so he is absolutely gorgeous, he has blonde hair and perfect blue eyes." "Okay but like what about his body?!" Asked Isabell. Of course she would be the one to ask about his body. I roll my eyes "I'm not sure but we are going to swimming this evening so I'll get a better visual." Both started screaming like teenage girls. "Ugh you guys! For real though, I'm so nervous to be alone with him tonight." Krystal came and sat next to me on the bed and grabbed the white lacy pillow to hug. "I can't wait to meet my future husband someday." I put my head on her shoulder and tell her "it's more than just looks, he might be handsome but I have a lot to learn about him still."
Isabel got off the phone once I finished telling her about how our lunch went. I'll be seeing more of her once the wedding planning starts. Her and my mother are going to outdo themselves even with the short amount of time that they have.
I didn't tell them about us being supposed soulmates yet. I hadn't done any research and wasn't sure he was just making it all up. I also didn't tell them I was going to be moving away to the Midwest. That felt like a conversation I should have with Isabel in person. I secretly hoped that I could hold off on that topic with her for a while. Krystal stood up from the bed still holding my pillow. "You're not telling me everything are you? You've been really tense since you've been back." I sit the phone back onto the night stand and fall back onto my silky covers and wrap myself up in my arms. "He told me I would be moving away to his kingdom and I'm not sure when I'll be back." Krystal looked at me dumb founded and her mouth wide open. "I have so many questions.." she gasped, you and I both. "Alright, go ahead and ask. I'm not sure of the answers myself but I'll try to explain as best as I can." Krystal laid down next to me and held my hand. She was so small, how much was she going to grow when I was away? She's going to be a full grown women before I'll get to see her again.
"He lives in a kingdom? How far away is it? What does he do there?" I sigh and look at her trying to not show how upset I feel. "He apparently is the top guard of the king and his kingdom is located in the Midwest." Just thinking about it made my heart sink. I was going to be leaving my beautiful ocean for prairie land and snow. I was going to need to go shopping because I sure didn't own many winter clothes. I wasn't ready to leave the only home I've ever had. We used to travel a lot when I was a child to follow wherever my father had to work. Once he passed all those years ago my mother found this safe little town and we haven't left since. My sister looked like she had tears running down her cheek when she quickly looked away. "I'm not sure what I'm going to do without you. You're my best friend." I give her a long and tight hug. "I promise I'll come visit as much as I can and I'll have you come visit us so you can see my new home." She looked up and smiled at me while her brown eyes still glistened. "When will you be leaving?" I looked down and away from her not able to look her in the eyes as I answered. "I'm assuming after the wedding, which you know is in a week." I thought I heard a sniffle when I looked back at her. She looked away again so I couldn't see she was getting more upset. "You don't have to hide your feelings from me. I'm just as heartbroken as you are." I push a strand of her short silky brown hair out of her face and smile warmly. " I know Ella, I'm so excited to see what your future holds but it's going to be hard to be left behind." I sigh and kiss her on the forehead "I'll never leave you behind, I'll just have to make a phone call everyday to let you know how it's going and i can't wait to hear how your sophomore year at school is going to go!" She rolled her eyes at me and giggled "Don't make me think of school at a time like this! I'm already sad enough." I walk over to my large closet and slide the wooden door over. "Well, how about you help me start packing to get our minds off of this? I'm going to need to start dressing warm and you have a much better fashion sense than I do." She smiled her wide grin that I love so much and jumped off the bed. She sprinted to the closet and looked inside. "Well I suppose I can work with what you got." As she winked at me and walked inside.
After about 2 hours of packing god knows how many pairs of jeans, long sleeve shirts and maybe one hoodie we decided to take a break. "I have to start getting ready to meet Noah. I'm going to show him around town and then take him swimming." She wiggles her eyebrows at me. "what are you going to wear?" I hadn't even thought about what I was going to wear. "Umm my green one piece and maybe my blue lacy shirt with leggings and sandals?" She looked at me with disappointment and started shaking her head. "goodness no, you're going to wear your red two piece and that white beach dress that has the sunflowers on it! She jumps up and gathers all my pieces of clothing she thought would be appropriate. "Krystal don't you think the two piece is a little showy? I don't want him to think I'm trying to hard." She scowls at me "don't be a prude! You're beautiful and you should be proud with what you're working with." I laugh and get up to start getting ready. I head into the bathroom and start changing my clothes and brushing my hair. Ten minutes later I walk out and do a twirl so krystal can see her masterpiece. "Umm Ella why is there not a slick of makeup on your face? You didn't sleep much last night with talking to Isabel and I about tall dark and handsome." I guess she was right I had dark rings around my eyes. "You're right, I should probably try to look somewhat alive." She walks into the bathroom and sits on my white marble counter letting her legs dangle. "Come here so I can fix your face and make you look like the goddess you are." "Fix my face huh? That's hurtful." I say with a small smile. She laughs and grabs a makeup brush and some concealer to start on my dark eyes. When she's done I look in the mirror generally impressed with her work. I had no longer any dark rings around my eyes but instead I looked pretty. I had yellow eye shadow with dark mascara making my green eyes pop. That didn't take much though because vampires eyes always had a glow to them, it was the easiest way to tell us apart from humans besides our fangs of course. The glowing eyes would help us see better in the dark. She also gave me a nice pink hint to my lips and some light blush. "Don't worry Ella its all water proof so you won't come out looking like a gargoyle."She said with a hint of a laugh. "Thanks for being so honest with me." I said laughing "and thank you for doing my makeup I look way less tired." She jumped off the counter and wiped off her hands like she had just done a full days work. "Don't mention it, if I were you though I'd go grab a coffee before leaving and maybe some of that O positive you like so much." She was right I should've take a nap but I was to worked up about the million questions going through my mind. Which the main question is what is that electric pull that I feel every time I'm around him? I needed answers or I was never going to rest. "You're right, I'm going to head to the kitchen and grab a coffee before he gets here." Which would be soon. "Okay Ella, be safe and smart." She winked at me and walked out of my bedroom into hers that was right next door. She was probably going to be out for a couple of hours. Vampires don't need the normal 8 hours of sleep everyday but we do need to rest occasionally.
I start to walk to the kitchen and I instantly feel those butterflies in my stomach. I was going to be alone with Noah. I was going to be able to learn about him and maybe get an explanation to this whole soulmates thing. Why had I never heard of vampires having soulmates? If this was true I'm sure these arranged marriages wouldn't last or work out like they have been. As I walk down our beige hallway that is covered in older floral paintings that my mother loved to collect, I get to the kitchen archway. Before I start to walk in I feel the pull. It's so strong it makes me gasp and take a step back. I knew he was here, what was he doing in my kitchen? After standing a few seconds to try and calm my nerves I walk in slowly. He's sitting at the black marble island with the biggest grin on his face. He looked gorgeous of course. He had on a white baseball cap and a light blue loose t-shirt that sculpted his muscular arms. His swim trunks were white, green and blue with what looked like waves on them and some sandals. I smiled back "you look like you're ready for the beach." He looked me up and down slowly carrying his eyes up and down my body and lingering for a second on my chest before he popped back up. Making me instantly blush as his eyes never left me. "Yes of course! I'm very excited for you to show me around this town of yours. I've never actually swam in the ocean and I'm glad my first time will be with you." He said getting up from the stool. As he walked over he slowly grabbed my hand and I felt that charge again. I gasp and pull away not sure I'll ever get used to it. He smiled warmly "would you like to go grab some food first?" I look up and met his eyes. " yes, I'd love that."
