Just one atom?

Part 6

"BUCKY!" I screamed. He came closer and closer to me. "Tony!" I cried, "save me," I said in a silent whisper. Tears streamed down my face and I fell into a silent sob. I felt helpless. I felt alone. I was scared. Just I thought it was all over, the door opened and in came Steve with his shield. He saw the scene that was unfolding and he took immediate action. He jabbed bucky with what I could only assume was some kind of thing that makes people fall asleep. I ran to Steve and flung my arms around his neck in a tight hug. He lead me out of Buckys room and told Friday to lock to the door and not let him out for anything. We slowly walked back to Tony's room and he opened the door. Tony ran over to me and scooped me up in a hug. I cried silently into his shoulder and weakly hugged him back. Steve nodded at Tony and left without a word. "Shhhh sh shhhhh, your safe now ok? Please stop crying" I sniffed and looked up at him through my red puffy eyes. I smiled a little "did you pause the movie?" I asked innocently. Tony did his cute little chuckle and played the movie. When he sat down I sat directly in his lap and he held me close to his chest. He smelled so good, I felt safe in his arms, I felt like nothing could ever hurt me. Alas, I knew it to be untrue. I knew Tony couldn't always be there when I needed him. But I knew that for a short time, there in his arms, I was safe, safe from the world. That night I fell asleep in his arms.

I woke the next day to an empty bed. I assumed Tony was up really early to go do his fiddly tech things. Slowly, I got up, got dressed, and went to find him. He was in his lab as I thought, he kinda gave it away with the loud AC/DC. I knocked on the door lightly and pushed it open. He turned and looked at me with a big smile on his face, "Hey beautiful, how are you?" he said as he scooped me up into a tight hug. Someone was in a good mood, maybe he had his morning coffee already. Neither the less it made me smile. "I'm amazing now, thank you, how are you?" He put me down and kissed me on the cheek. "I'm amazing, thank you" he went back to fiddling. "So um, I was wondering if you would, um, *coughs* would you like to go on a date with me" he had his back facing me but I could tell he was blushing. I couldn't stop the smile on my face from growing and I almost screamed my answer. "Yes of course Tony. I would love that" He turned around and had a smile like mine. "That's great!" he said, "if your not busy today then we and go at lunch ish?" My grin widened and I said "sure, I'll make sure I'm ready" and with that, I ran to my room and rummaged through the closets.

Lunch ish was soon approaching and I had nothing to wear. There was only one thing left for it. Nat and Wanda. I ran to Nat's room and knocked but she wasn't there. I looked at the time on my phone, "Shit" I mumbled under my breath, "I've only got 2 hours left" I still needed to brush my teeth, shower, shave, do my hair, get changed, brush my teeth again, god I need nat and Wanda. I sprinted to Wanda's room, hoping she'd be there. "WANDA" I shouted and I banged on her door. She opened the door and she was on her bed reading, "Wanda I have a date in 2 hours I need your help". She looked at me in shock, "HOW CAN YOU JUST TELL ME NOW?" I looked at her with a blank look on my face, panic setting in. "Okay game plan, you go shower, I'll pick out your outfit" I nodded, but stood still, willing my feet to move. "GO GO GO!" Wanda shouted at me, I ran back to my room.

Okay, shower first. I got in and let the warm water wash over me, relaxing for the first time since yesterday. After what happened with Bucky I was so tense and needed to relax. I decided to brush my teeth in the shower so I could be done faster. I used my special shampoo and body wash. I made sure to shave EVERYTHING too. When I got out of the shower I brushed my teeth (again) and went to see Wanda. I knocked on her door rapidly and she opened it and pulled me in. "Okay I have two options for you," she said, pulling out the first one. It was a beautiful green dress. Just below my knees, knit texture, short sleeves. She had paired it with some black heeled ankle boots. "Oh my... that is so gorgeous" She nodded in agreement. "However, There is still the second option" She put down the hanger with the green dress and picked up another. A short off the shoulder black dress, it was elegant and simple and showered off all my best features (my collar bones). I walked towards Wanda and took the hanger. "This is just, so...." I paused "Perfect?" Wanda asked. I turned back to her and nodded, "Yes it is" She handed me black tights and a pair of black heels and I went to try it on in her bathroom. She did my hair and makeup, I grabbed my lip gloss and I was ready two hours later. We sat on the bed talking for a while, then there was a knock on the door.
