The guards led us throughout the jail while Rocket was constantly talking, most likely to distract himself from the lab.

"I guess most of Nova Corps wanna uphold the laws, but these ones here, they're corrupt and cruel. But, hey, that's not my problem. I ain't gonna be here long. I've escaped 22 prisons. This one's no different. You're lucky the broad showed up, because otherwise, me, Groot and Ash would be collecting that bounty right now, and you two be getting drawn and quartered by Yondu and those Ravagers,"

I used to try and get him to keep his mouth shut but it's how he copes so I just let him rattle on.

"I've had a lot of folks try to kill me over the years and I'm not about to be brought down by a tree, a talking raccoon and their human buddy,"

Rocket looked puzzled at what Starlord just said.

"What's a racoon?"

He didn't know what he was. Starlord decided to be an ass.

"What's a raccoon? It's what you-"

"Starlord,"

His attention was brought to me. There was a slight smile on his face at being called that but I was unsure why.

"Shut up,"

Starlord looked very confused but decided to just drop the situation. Rocket then turned to me.

"Seriously, what's a racoon?"

I hesitated. He wouldn't like being called an animal, causing him to most likely try and tackle Starlord and that doesn't seem like the smartest idea right now.

"I'll tell you later,"

I pet his head and then Starlord tried to talk to Gamora.

"So, this Orb has a real shiny blue suitcase, Ark of the Covenant, Maltese Falcon sort of vibe. What is it?"

I was pretty curious too if I was being honest. If Gamora wanted it, it must be pretty powerful.

"I am Groot," (Most likely a weapon)

"So what? What's the Orb?"

Starlord obviously didn't understand what Groot was saying and I felt bad for Groot, only able to speak to Rocket and I.

"I have no words for honorless thieves,"

Rocket scoffed at this and I internally begged him to shut up. Gamora wasn't the nicest but I still didn't want to be enemies with her.

"Pretty high and mighty coming from the lackey of a genocidal maniac,"

Gamora looked surprised that Rocket knew who she was.

"Yeah, I know who you are. Anyone who's anyone knows who you are,"

That was true. As I've said before, she is very well-known.

"Yeah, we know who you are... Who is she?"

I sighed at his stupidity, it was starting to get old.

"I am Groot," (She's the daughter of Thanos)

"Yeah, you said that,"

We were all getting frustrated with Starlord at this point, I could tell we all wanted bash his head into a wall. However, Gamora was mad at him do other reasons.

"I wasn't retrieving the Orb for Ronan. I was betraying him. I had an agreement to sell it to a third party,"

Now that was interesting. Was she going to retrieve the orb for Thanos then? Or was it a completely different person? Most likely the latter as she would just give it to her father, not sell.

Groot obviously was thinking the same question as me.

"I am Groot," (To Thanos?)

"Well, that's just as fascinating as the first 89 times you told me that. What is wrong with Giving Tree, here?"

Rocket wanted to choke him and I was right there with him.

"Well, he don't know talking good like me and you. So his vocabulistics is limited to I and am and Groot. Exclusively in that order,"

His brows were furrowed and his hands were curled up in fists. I once again pat his head, trying to get him to calm down.

"I tell you, that's gonna wear thin real fast,"

Finally, we ended up at a room where our stuff was in. A guard was holding some type of music player.

"Hey, put that away! Hey!"

Starlord entered the room before the door closed and yelled at the guard again, ignoring our yelling at him.

"Listen to me, you big blue bastard. Take those headphones off. That's mine. Those belong to impound. That tape and that player is mine!"

The guard shocked him with some type of stick as we all stood there. I didn't like him but I didn't want to watch him be hurt. Starlord still didn't give up though and started yelling again.

"Hooked on a Feeling, Blue Swede, 1973. That song belongs to me!"

Eventually, he shut up. The music device was obviously very important to him so I couldn't really judge him on whether he had done the right thing trying to get it back or not.
