After being taken away from her abusive father, Amber refused to stay with any remaining family, and was placed in an orphanage.
After escaping the orphanage with Ethan, she stays by his side as they walk, unaware of what Ethan had planned. After learning of the folktale about monsters and humans, Ethan leads them both towards Mt. Ebott. She follows close behind him, despite her fear.
When they find the entrance to the underground, she watches as Ethan accidentally falls into the pit.

Amber is rather shy, but a caring person, especially towards Ethan. She is also more cautious than Ethan and cares about the safety of others.
Amber's hair is blonde. She has straight hair, but it is thin and messy. She also has a small pigtail on each side of her head. She wears a light green sweater, with two dark green stripes. In the middle of her shirt, is a flower. Her sweater almost completely covers her gray dress. Her white socks go up past her knees.
Amber meets Ethan not long after his arrival at the orphanage. Because of her past with her abusive father, no one interacted with her until Ethan came along. Ethan was the first person to speak to her in a long time. Ethan was all she had, so she ran away with him to stay with him. Amber is 11, a year younger than Ethan.
