6 months later

Katy woke at 7:30 and took a shower. After her shower, she got dressed and make sure the door was locked so she could put her binder on before her t-shirt. She was planning on coming out to everyone tonight. She had planned to do it sooner, but had chickened out every time. After she got dressed and brushed her teeth, she walked out of the bathroom and saw that Emmy was still sleeping. Katy smiled and walked downstairs. It was only 8, so Katy wasn't surprised when she walked down stairs and it was quiet. She thought in her head how she was going to tell everyone. While Katy was thinking, she started making breakfast for everyone. The teenager was so deep in thought that she didn't hear Emmy walk down the stairs. Emmy walked up to Katy and wrapped her arms around her. Katy jumped a little, but relaxed after a second. "Sorry I didn't mean to scare you." Emmy said. "It's okay. I just didn't hear you." "What were you thinking about?" "Oh just about the different things I need to do today." "Like what?" "I need Paul to bring me to the store, I need to got to Target, I need to clean our room, or at least my side, and I need to put together our surprise for later." "Sounds fun."  Katy laughed and asked Emmy to get everyone for breakfast. After everyone had breakfast, Paul and Nina took Katy to the store and to Target. After they got back, Katy goes to clean her and Emmy's room before she starts on the surprise.

3 HOURS LATER

It is now 5 and Katy had everything set up for the surprise. She had the trans flag on the living room wall covered by some curtains, along with one of her binders and one of Luca's and a picture she traced (the one above) on the table. She also had the time and date for her and Luca's  first gender clinic appointment on a piece of paper. "AIDAN!" Katy yelled for her twin brother. "COMING!" Aidan ran down the stairs and into the kitchen where Katy was. "What's up?" Aidan asked her. "Could you help me make dinner please?" "Yeah of course. What are we making?" "Lasagna, with corn on the cob, garlic bread, and salad." "Oooo sounds good." Katy laughed at his reaction and they started cooking. "Aidan will you please go get everyone for dinner?" "Yeah of course." "Thank you." "You're welcome." Aidan ran up the stairs and called out for everyone to come downstairs for dinner. Aidan then ran back down the stairs with the others in tow. Everyone sat down for dinner and dug in. Everyone complemented Aidan and Katy for their cooking skills. Aidan and Katy had also made brownies and ice cream for dessert. "Hey Aidan? Will you get the dessert while I bring everyone into the living room?" "Yeah of course." Katy smiled at Aidan and left the kitchen. She rounded the corner and saw Emmy. "You ready for this?" Katy asked. "As ready as I'll ever be."
