Ellie-Grace POV
Something's wrong. I know it . Mums being more secretive than ever. Dads even grumpier than ever. Whenever I ask questions Dad just snaps at me and tells me to go away.
In my room I hear Mum crying. I go in and ask " Are you okay ? "
"Yes I'm fine " she snaps shooing me out the door and locking it.
I go back into my room and find Grumbles. Grumbles is my oldest teddy bear. He is a black bear. I call him Grumbles because his mouth is in a fixed frown.
Every time I played with my toys Grumbles was always the bad guy who captured the princess Clare (barbie) and locked her up in his tower ( kitchen roll tube ). Then Alex came in with Frances ( her blue care bear) and Frances saved princess Clare. Frances and princess Clare lived happily ever after and Grumbles was locked up in prison ( wardrobe).
Every time.
I hug Grumbles even tighter now as I have wet cheeks from thinking about Alex and all the fun times we had together.

"Ellie-Grace , Ellie-Grace ,Ellie-Grace Get up right now!!! You will be late for School ! " my dad snaps.
He throws my uniform at me and shakes me so hard I think my head might fall off
When I go downstairs , where its brighter, I see my dad has bags under his eyes " Come on baby girl its time to go to school "
I don't even question him about breakfast. I'll have to get someone to give me a penguin or something.
When I get into class the only one who is there is Anna.
"Hi" I say shyly
"Hey , wanna sit beside me ? "
"Sure " I say managing a smile. That's the first time I think I have smiled a real smile in a long time.
"You hungry?"
"Starving. I woke up late so I couldn't have breakfast"
"Really ? Here you go then I got a load of these" she says handing me a Twix.
"Where do you get them all ?"
"My mum , I don't eat them all though. I sell them at lunch for 10p "
" Do the teachers know ? " I say between mouthfuls
"Heck no . Someone always keeps watch. Anyway you owe me 10p "
"I'm broke."
" Okay but next time your hungry you don't get without paying. Only becuase your my friend will I let you go." She said flicking a plait behind her head.
