Chapter 6

Ellie-Grace POV

I don't see my mum anymore. She disappeared after the night she burst out of  my room crying last night. ,

I try to concentrate on my homework but I cant. I keep thinking about what my mum said about Alex. What did she mean ? What's happening ? Was it becuase of me ?

So many questions that I have , so many unanswered , so many to never be answered.

Maybe I could find out by looking at my mums phone. I know its risky but shes not in the house and dads downstairs doing his work.

I find mums phone in her bedroom in her bedside table. I know her password it's

I look at her messages and I click the first contact I see

Michael Dunne ( Dr. Dunne )

The last she texted him was 2 weeks ago

Mum : How's A ?

A? Does she mean Alex ?

Dunne : Good progress. Healthy.

Mum: Okay can I see her ?

The next one is an hour later

Dunne : Oh no ! Oh no ! Come quick ! Come to the hospital as fast as you can !

Mum : Why ? What happened !? What happened to Alex !!!!!!!!!!

Dunne : No time to explain. Tell you when you get there !!

That was the last one. So they were talking about Alex. I wonder what could have happened that's so important that Mum had to go to hospital to see Alex. Alex...

I hear my dad come up the stairs and I quickly dart into my bedroom with my mums phone still in hand.

" Hey honey " he says with a smile on his face . He gives me a hug and says " How are you feeling ? "

"Better " I answer

"Good , now do you want to go to the chippy becuase your mother is going to stay at Aunty Mary's tonight and your poor old dad can't cook too save his life can he now " he says raising an eyebrow, playfully.

I giggle and shake my head.

" Okay  Put a coat on becuase it is cold outside " he says , mocking mum .

I smile .

"Let's go "

So that's how we spend our evening.

Eating takeaway chips from Valentino's Chippy and watching back to back episodes of The Simpsons.

I love when its just me and dad. We always do the same thing each evening when Mums away.

I wish it could be like this always.
