OK let me get this straight
I am going to die in less than two weeks but
A) My little sister doesn't know me at all
B) My mum & dad only found out and they are already grieving
Its stupid this ' death ' thing you know . When someone is dead you can't interact or talk with them you just say a few words on you loved them and then bury them in the dirt .
My mum walks in her heels click clacking on the perfectly polished floor. Tears begin to flow out of her eyes when she sees me
"Oh Alex-" she begins
" Mum " I say sternly looking her in the eye " You have to promise not to do it again , when I umm you know ."
When my Gran ( My mums mum ) died mum completely zoned out for 5 months . That meant all she did was sit in Gran's old rocking chair and sing this really creepy song called ' The hanging tree ' , rocking back and forth.
No friendly chatter. No work . And sometimes she didn't eat.
Dad had to do all the work , keep Ellie happy and content , make sure she was safe. Ellie-Grace was only 6. Too young to understand anything really.
As the oldest child dad was relying on me too help with the minor jobs such as the dishes and the washing.
Then the cancer came. I didn't notice it at first. One day I came from school and my dad noticed that I was limping and he asked why. I said my leg hurt so he left Ellie with our childminder , Emma , and took me to hospital to get a blood test becuase he suspected I had tuberculosis (TB). It turned out I had cancer cells in my body . Just what I need .
"Okay , I promise you it will never happen again Alex "
"Thank you"

But sadly she lost

" Yeah that'll work " I say not the slightest bit interested .
"What did you tell Ellie ?" I say
I see Mum flinch like i slapped her across the face.
" You haven't told her haven't you . You promised me you would tell her."
"But-"
"No buts Mum , you said you would tell her and let her visit me so I could say goodbye !"
" Well we've been busy with your father getting a new job , Ellie-Grace going to a new school , you , we haven't had time to tell her ." Mum says softly as to calm me down.
It does not calm me down at all .
"That's it get out " I say finally snapping " The only way you can come back is with my sister !"
Mum runs out crying and I feel really bad. I know it would be hard for her to tell her but I want my sister to know . Ellie-Grace must think I am a horrible sister , leaving her and shutting her out for 2 years .
It was all mum & dads idea to leave Ellie out of this. I complained and said no but they wouldn't listen they said it was for the best. They said.
