Mia glanced back at Emma, who nodded affirmatively. She picked up the envelope and walked slowly back to Emma. The envelope was made of very old paper, almost like parchment. There was a letter inside. It was written in small, loopy, and untidy letters. Mia read it aloud;
To whomever finds this letter,
I may be long gone when you might be reading this. I have written this letter to clear up a queer incident that occurred in 1924.
"1924?! That was almost a century ago!" said Emma. "I know, right?" replied Mia.
If you go through the newspapers of last year, you will find out that in 1924, a girl named Pixie Parker disappeared. Pixie was my best pal. She had lived a happy life, so her disappearance was a mystery to everyone. Everyone, except me.
No one knew why she had mysteriously disappeared that night, in the darkness of the night of 18th May 1924. I was the only one who knew, but I never told a soul. You may ask why, but now is not the time for the story to be told. You must be patient and wait.
That morning was as normal as could be. We had both come to school together and attended our morning classes. All was well up until our supper break. She kissed Robert Lewis (It looked as if these words were written quite aggressively) from Class IX. Robert was very well-liked, so, naturally, many girls were envious of Pixie.
Pixie informed me that 2 days after the incident, a person dressed in complete black attempted to strangle her, fortunately for her, she was able to escape from the person.
Immediately after, she left the country with her family to go to a faraway place, the location of which she would not disclose. After finishing my studies a few years later, I decided to look for Pixie. I tried looking for her in a lot of countries and spent the whole year searching for her, but I was unable to locate her.
Now, you will know the reason why I haven't told anyone.

"Go on, Mia" "But that's it, that's-that's the end of the letter.."There was a slight pause."She couldn't have not been able to finish the letter, because she did write a salutation, so why didn't she finish it?""Honestly, Emma, do I look like I know?"
"Yeah, but-" Emma stopped in the middle of her sentence. They had both heard a noise, but this time, it was closer than before. The two girls froze in fear.
All of a sudden, a silvery-white figure materialized in front of them. It wasn't entirely silvery-white, though. Its eyes and lips were black, the same shade of a dark shadow. The friends realized that it was the figure of a girl, in her early 20s. She wore a long dress, that appeared to be light gray.
"Did I scare you?" She asked, in a creepy, high pitched but raspy voice. Shivers went down their spines but they didn't reply. "You!" she shouted suddenly, looking at Emma, who jumped.
"You're McAdams aren't you?" Emma looked at Mia, who looked back at Emma with a scared look in her eyes. Emma looked at the ghost, or whatever she was, gathered up her courage, and shook her head. "Um, I'm sorry. You've got the wrong person." It felt weird to be talking politely to this weird ghost thing. "HOW DARE YOU LIE TO ME!" The Ghost-Thing screamed. "I KNOW IT! YOU ARE McADAMS!" Emma stepped back and glanced at Mia who had a I-wanna-scream-and-run-for-my-life look on her face. Emma knew, that right now, it was every girl for herself.
"Uhh, I'm sorry," Emma began, but the Ghost-Thing interrupted. "You're evil, just like the rest of your family!" the ghost spat. Emma was confused, 'the rest of your family'? "Uh, sorry. I am McAdams." At this point, Emma was wondering why no one had come rushing to the library, especially after the ghost had screamed. Could they not hear her?
Suddenly, the Ghost-Thing smiled a thin-lipped, icy, and cruel smile. "Don't you want to know why I'm here?" She asked, in a calmer tone. The girls didn't reply. "That girl that went missing in 1924, why do you think you've got that letter now? I will finish that letter. I will tell you right now and right here." She paused and smiled at her weird smile again. "After moving to the faraway country, Pixie had also changed her name to Georgia," That name sounded a bit familiar to Emma. "Then when she grew up, she married a man. Do you know what his surname was?" Emma and Mia shook their heads. "It was McAdams."
