There was a knock at the door.
"Michelle smith?" The door slowly opened, revealing the man with the fedora.
"Hi, Michelle, Rhett McLaughlin, do you want some breakfast?" He presented a tray, with some juice and pastries on it.
"Th... Thankyou," She hesitated. Rhett raised an eyebrow.
"Is... is it.... Safe?" She felt quite stupid when the man started laughing.
"Of course!" he spluttered. Then he realised she was being serious.
"Um.. Yes, yes it's fine," He finally reassured, calming down. Michelle let out a slight giggle. Suddenly serious Rhett put a hand on the teens arm.
"Michelle, your safe now, ok?" She nodded. He instantly turned very dramatic.
"No, I mean Michelle, you are really safe. No one will hurt you. Nothing bad can happen now. If you ever feel insecure here again, you are to immediately ring that bell, or scream. Do something to alert someone. Anything."
"Ok! Come to the meeting room in an hour and a half. There are arrows and things to lead you along the way, sort of like a cruise ship! I'll leave you to eat and change now," Rhett was his usual upbeat self almost as quickly as he had turned serious! He opened the door with a flourish, bowed and swiftly walked down the corridor.
"THANK YOU!" The teen shouted after him. Rhett smiled to himself.
