Kim's POV

When our bus arrived at the school everyone was in awe, not the kind of awe when you see a beautiful view or a shining diamond. Half of the already half burnt school was burnt. It was a mess and we as students were in a much bigger mess. Since we only had one week of school left for the term it wasn't a big deal, for now. The other thing is someone died, Vic was barely speaking and Tim did not utter another word after he announced the news to us the day before.

"Woah" Nat said looking at what was left of our school.

"You can say that again" Dee said

"Woah" Nat said again.

"Good bye guys, me and Dee better get going" I said. I hugged Vic tightly muttering 'it will be okay' under my breath. I moved to Tim to give a hug but he stiffened.

"You are not going anywhere" he said. Atleast he spoke.

"What?" I asked.

"You are coming with me, I'm not letting you go to the Palestines territory. They might do something to you and I won't be there to protect you" he said.

"The Palestines territory is my home plus I'm not afraid of X and his gang" I said.

"Well you should be Kim, I don't want anything happening to you because of me"

"I need to go back to work okay, I'm already behind on my rent as is"

"You don't have to work angel, you'll live with me and I'll take care of you"

"That's a very big move Timothy and I don't think I want to be dependent on someone" I said and hugged him. I knew he was worried about my safety and that he felt guilty for the death of his gang member but I don't think I would have been able to live with borders, where I couldn't go at a certain place. I could sense that Tim wanted to say something else but I wasn't having it.

I turned around and walked away while Dee followed struggling with her suitcases, a very funny sight if we weren't all sad. When we were near the local park we saw the Palestines chilling at the swings. Why the hell are they chilling? Shouldn't they be on the run? I mean they are murders now.

X saw us and waved us over. Dee and I looked at each other with hesitant looks but we went to them.

"Kim" X said smoke coming out of his mouth after taking a drag from a cigarette and passing it to someone else.

"X" I replied.

"Nice to see you" he said.

"I wish I could say the same, since you burnt my school"

"I'm guessing you have seen it?" he smirked and I nodded. "So your boyfriend has seen it as well"

"What happened to you? You were always kind when we were little, remember."

"Yeah and you could always throw a punch like the ones you gave me that Friday" he said.

"What happened?" I repeated my question.

"Not all of us can always smile like the world has no worries Kim. Life changed a lot since we were little, you lost your parents for crying out loud"

X was there that fateful day he was the one that comforted me. We were only five and I think it was the first death we both ever encountered, my parents were like his. He never really had a good relationship with his drunk of a father, he never really knew his mother and never cared. We both went to different schools and grew apart, and I became closer to Dee who I had known from Daycare but we were never really close in Daycare.

"That doesn't mean kill people" I whispered.

"That was a mistake" he whispered back.

"That doesn't change anything" I said. "Let's go Dee" I concluded not feeling like I could stand to utter another word to him.

"Where were you all week?"

Argh I was at the presence of a witch infact a two headed ghoul, I don't know which emphasises how evil she is better. I took two beers and handed them to a customer that was busy looking at my breasts. Thank God I worked behind the bar.

"I didn't know you cared" I said not even looking her way instead wiping the spilt alcohol on the bar.

"I do care" she said. She cares, wow. "when my business does not have enough workers"

Yes yes I feel the love.

"Ok then if you'll excuse me I need to work, wouldn't want your business to have distracted workers"

My aunt left and I sighed, two more years and of I'm of to university. In other words freedom, I'll be free.

"You could atleast act like you want to be here" a voice said. I looked up.

"Uncle Lethal" I said smiling.

"How is my favorite and only niece doing?" Lethal said.

"What do you think?"

"It's that bad" he said and I nodded.

"What are you doing here anyways?" I asked.

"To have a drink of course, can I have your most expensive bottle" he said trying to say it in a British accent, emphasis on trying.

"I don't think you can afford the most expensive bottle, but really why are you here?"

"Clever girl, let's just say a mutual friend of ours asked for another favor for me to check on you. On the mutual friend  part to you he is more of a sex partner"

"Sex partner?"

"Yes" he said wiggling his brows.

"I'm fine and Tim should just chill nothing is going to happen to me"

"You can't blame the man for caring, he loves you. I've heard about the girl with changing color eyes ever since I met the guy. The girl with the beauty of an angel"

"Yeah I know he loves me"

"Then let him show it, even though he sends me to check on you because he can't do it himself"

"Well thank you Lethal"

"The Lethal weapon says you are welcome" he said bowing a little. "Ain't you a little too young to be working here?"

"I'm glad you notice"

"And that uniform you are wearing, mm. If you ever get tired of Tim I'm right here" he said and I slapped him in the head. "If Tim saw this and how the man are looking at you, he'll be pissed and ban you from working here. I know I would"
