"Look mommy, we reached the end!" A little boy jumped eagerly toward the reception desk. The words "The End" hauntingly loomed above everyone.
"Yes sweetie, we did." The boy's mother said with a happy smile on her face.
Suddenly, the lady behind the reception desk spoke into a loud speaker. "The scavenger hunt is now over, and the building is going to close. Please exit the nearest doors in a timely manner."
People rushed in, separating the little boy and his mother. Eventually, he got swallowed in the crowd, unable to see anything but the people's feet walking past him.
After getting stepped on and ignored, the little boy opened one eye and surveyed the area. Not a single person was by him, yet the area remained lighted and open.
"The doors are now locked," continued the female voice, no where to be seen. "Thank you for participating in the scavenger hunt!"
"Mom..."
