A promise, something to never be broken. Whether small or big.

Sometimes things happen in life, and it crushes your soul. You begin to wonder whether life is worth living anymore.

You promise yourself that you'll be fine, you'll be okay and one day you will find happiness. But when you look in the mirror, you realise that day is far away.

You long for the day where you'll find happiness, the day when your heart will feel at peace.

But every moment that passes feels like a sharp wound to your chest.

So what do you do ? You take it one day at a time, because the truth is that you know you are here for a reason.

'What happened to her?', Dr Linton questioned, a somber expression now etched on his face, his eyes had showed the slightest bit of concern.

They looked towards Adalyn, who had now been resting on the bed, the streaks of tear stains now lay dry on her face.

'She... she had a panic attack' she whispered, her voice reaching the ears of the force that was standing in the room, silent but loud.

'I see' Dr Linton responded. His voice heavy with understanding, surely he knew that Adalyn had a traumatic childhood, way worse than panic attacks.

'What should we do?' the nurse questioned, her heart almost breaking into pieces.

Hold it in, be strong for Adalyn,

The voice whispered in her mind.

'I take her', the voice echoed through the room, strong enough to vibrate the walls but soft enough as to not wake the woman sleeping on the bed.

The nurse's breath hitched in her throat.

The sound catching the attention of his ears.

His eyes bore into her own and made known his intention.

He dared her to speak.

Her eyes lowering unintentionally.

He continued to stare.

She looked down.

'I submit...'

He waited.

'Alpha Ares'

~~~
'Higher, higher' I giggled. I wanted to touch the sky and reach for the stars.
'Eros, higher' I shouted wanting him to hear me.
'Adalyn, if I push you any higher, you will fall off.'
'I won't, I prom-'
My words caught in my throat.
'Oomph'
I looked up to see his arms around me.
