Oswald X Felix
Oswald's ears dropped down against his shoulders once again, and he leaned against the headboard slowly. The board creaked upon the new pressure added to it. The sound was the only thing to fill the silence of the bedroom. That was until Felix spoke up.
"Having another one of those days?" He asked in the softest tone he could. He knew how Oswald got sometimes, and that was okay. No one could stay positive all the time. Even if they claimed they were, it was most likely a lie.
"Of course." Oswald huffed and looked away. He was always much ruder in these moods he had. It wasn't because he wanted to, it was just because his emotions made him. When he was sad he got really sad, but he also got a splurge of anger to protect himself from vulnerability.
"That's okay." Felix shifted closer to Oswald on the bed. He hesitantly wrapped his arms around his lovers chest and hugged him. He pressed his face into Oswald's shoulder and purred softly to the younger male he was holding.
"Felix knock it off." Oswald shifted away from the cat. He didn't want to hurt the cat, that wasn't the plan, he just didn't all like the attention he got when he was sad.
"Oh... okay." Felix pulled away from Oswald and turned to face the bottom of the bed. He stared at the wall for a while without much idea on what to do at the moment. Usually he was pretty decent with handling these moments, but lately he'd just started to not be able to. He wondered if Oswald was finally getting sick of him. The thought hurt more than he thought it would.
Oswald glanced over at Felix then back at the nightstand. He let out another sigh and shifted back to Felix. "Sorry." He apologized before hugging Felix tightly. Truth be told he really needed this hug. He was just trying to be strong for no reason. This was his boyfriend, he shouldn't act like this towards him. That wasn't right at all.
"It's okay." Felix slowly wrapped his arms around Oswald's chest again and hugged him lightly. He closed his eyes and pressed his face into Oswald's shoulder. His insides ached badly.
Oswald nuzzled Felix's neck and tightened his grip around the feline. They sat like that for a long time before Oswald lifted his head up. "You're not purring? Usually you do when I do this?" Oswald was a little confused.
"My throat is just sore." Felix lied hoping that it was a decent excuse to get by. He kept his face buried, so that Oswald couldn't look in his eyes.
"Okay, maybe you should take some medicine for that." Oswald kissed Felix on the neck and pulled away. "Thank you sweetheart, I feel better." He kissed Felix lightly on the lips. "You always know just what to do and how to pick me up at my lowest." He smiled widely. "I love you."
Felix was kind of zoning off now. Bits and pieces of what Oswald was saying made it in, but others were lost in the mess of thoughts. "You're welcome... I love you too." He replied back in a jumbled mess it seemed.
Oswald glanced at the clock. "Oh damn, it's noon. I should go start lunch for the kids." Oswald kissed Felix once more. "You stay here and rest up since you aren't feeling too good. I can take care of it love."
"Okay..." Felix nodded his head slowly and cleared his throat. It didn't hurt at all, but now he was just playing a role he had made. He had to make Oswald think it actually hurt. If not Oswald would get upset at him for lying.
Oswald walked out of the room without another word. He headed all the way down to the kitchen. Bunny children were already gathered around the rooms waiting for their father. They were pretty set on a schedule for eating since it was easiest that way.
Felix stared at the door for a long moment before collapsing onto the bed. He stared up at the ceiling feeling horrible. Every bad thought possible fed his already damaged mental health. Oswald was getting annoyed of him. Oswald didn't actually love him. He couldn't please Oswald. He wasn't enough.
The thoughts plagued him until he started to feel the now familiar warm salty tears rolling down his face. He wasn't really a cryer, but lately it seemed so easy to do. Usually it was in the shower when he was alone, but right now he couldn't control it. They just poured down.
He rolled over into his pillow to muffle the sobs that began to swarm up in his throat. He was gasping in between the fabric for air. He cried like that for a good ten minutes. By the time his eyes ran dry his throat really did hurt. It was raw from all the pitiful noise he had forced away. It was stupid.
He sat up and wiped his face to clear it of any stray tears the pillow hadn't gathered up. He flipped the pillow so the wet side was face down. He got up and remade the bed to try and calm himself down. It didn't really work. He was still sad deep inside, he just didn't have the energy or tears to cry anymore.
He finished up tyding up and went to the mirror. He fixed his fur up and attempted to fix his horrible appearance. His eyes were red and swollen from crying so violently. He couldn't go downstairs like that. Instead he slipped into the bathroom and began to work his magic.
He pressed a cold rag under his eyes to get rid of the puffiness that had invaded his face. After a long moment of just doing that he washed his face with hot water to get blood flowing through his face again. The heat would make his face flushed as well which would hide the redness until it went away. After all that was down he rubbed his cheeks just to make sure there wasn't any extra swelling.
"There you go..." Felix stared at his reflection in the mirror. "A perfect disaster." He pushed away from the sink and headed out of the bathroom. He walked through the bedroom, out into the hall, down the stairs, and finally to the kitchen where Oswald was still standing.
"Hey baby, how you feeling? Did you take any medicine?" Oswald asked when he noticed Felix across the room. He simply smiled at his boyfriend.
"Oh, yeah I took a cough drop I found in the nightstand." Felix grabbed his arm and squeezed it lightly. It took a lot of effort to not let his claws sink into the flesh. He examined Oswald's appearance. He examined Oswald's eyes. That hurt the most.
Oswald was happy right now, which was good, but he wasn't concerned or anything. He didn't notice anything was wrong at all.
Felix's chest tightened up, and he cleared his throat again to try and not cry. He wanted to just yell out to his boyfriend, to tell him he was broken too, but his voice never showed. He couldn't bring himself to share that part of his suffering with his lover. Oswald already had so many problems of his own.
It still hurt though. To see Oswald not take notice. Sure Felix had done everything in his power to not look upset, but he knew his eyes still shimmered with sadness. The eyes always gave away true emotion... yet Oswald didn't notice... or maybe Oswald just didn't care.
