She went for a walk.
The walk was longer than usual.
She walked with her head down for the most part to avoid any confrontation.
She needed to think. Needed to understand what was to come of this. She didn't know what was ahead, but she knew that she had to face it head-on.
She walks in the park looking at the old and new couples sharing compassion with each other. She see's kids of all ages showing appreciation for one another. She see's the local lake ducks swimming with each other to get to the other side of the lake.
She then turns to see the gorgeous Peony flowers in near sight and walked towards them. She began to cry.
Tears of joy...Tears that one can't explain. One can only feel.
It had been a rough few years for her since her grandma had passed, but seeing those flowers. The flowers that were her grandmother's favorite made her smile. Even if it were a temporary feeling, she knew that this small piece of joy was enough to get her through this day atleast.
She may not know what is to come of tomorrow, but she's not there just yet. She's living for today.
"Thank you," she looks up at the sky.
She smiles one more time at the flowers and finishes her daily walk this time with her head up.
